Should There Be New Villagers for Future AC

The only way there would be new guys, is if they took some of the other veterans out.

umm there were new characters in NL and to the best of my knowledge they didn't remove any villagers from CF to make room for deer/hamster/watever else villagers in NL... There's ample space on the 3DS cart (I think they can hold 8GB, and NL takes up roughly 1GB or sth), so there's no reason why they would have to remove "veterans" to add in new characters. wtf r u on about

I would laugh if they made Dolphin/fish villagers. Like, they'd make some dolphin villagers, but have one of them look like a shark, or a killer whale etc. Maybe they'd make whales!! Animal Crossing needs more marine life~

Honestly people have been wanting bats for so long now I'm starting to actually feel a little hopeful about it. I mean, they must've seen all the hype in the fandom about how cute bat villagers would be by now, right?
I'd like some rat villagers. like mice, but a little bigger and chunkier/creepier looking. And we definitely need some lizards. If we can't have tortoises I want turtles darn it or even a newt idk there just needs to be more reptiles/amphibians going on

I'd like a female adult lion that looks like Nala from the Lion King. She'd be a normal, very sweet with pretty eyes.

Eh. I don think rats or turtles are possible, since there's too much similarity between rats and mice, and tortimer basically covers tortoises and turtles. Same with Nat and lizards.

There's always going to be new villagers. Some will not appear, most will, and new ones certainly will. Every game since its Nintendo 64 debut has had new villagers.

Of course, but not in this spinoff thing coming soon. On the Wii U version, when there is one, I want there to be like 15 villagers per town lol.

The problem is if they take in new animals, they need to leave some older ones behind (because Nintendo restricts itself to have only one villager birthday per day). Besides, people are always disappointed to find out that some of their favourite character has been left behind in a new iteration. I still resent the absence of Olive to this day...

theres 333 villagers in NL, that leaves 32 (33 if they wanna do a leap year villager) spots for new villagers. Of course, they can remove older, non-popular ones. so...

I always believed it would be cool to add new species of villagers for sequels of Animal Crossing and was originally disappointed of how New Horizons added so few but atleast the updates brought more and even many back! This was a welcome change buuuut I am still a bit sad that New Leaf had new species, personalities and soo many new ones but New Horizons did not. They even brought back some in that Welcome Amiibo update. I am so thankful though that they brought back all of our babes from New Leaf as Animal Crossing has been notorious for leaving some out in future entries. Overall though I hope the next games add a lot of cool new villagers and special characters but brings back our favorites!

yes! one of the things that excites me the most about future animal crossing games is the possibility of new villagers being introduced! i’d love for there to be axolotl, owl and otter villagers one day, as well as bats, sharks etc! i also wouldn’t mind more deer and octopus villagers haha

Yes but here's the thing I really hope they do in the next AC. I want the new villagers to have new personalities that have never been added to the game. I also want them to have more things to say and they are not like the same copy/paste of a villager that you've seen already. Also there should be more new species of villagers. I mean for a game called "Animal Crossing" I would've expected more animal species to the series.

The main issue I have with AC and I know some may disagree with this is that all the villagers just feel too similar to each other no matter what their personality is. I sometimes wonder if they would've take their time to make new personalities that give them more character to them so that way they stand out from other villagers.

One of the reasons why people liked Raymond so much from 2020 is because of the way he looked. They didn't care about his smug personality since no matter what smug villager you get they would talk the same way as each other. After a year went by nobody seem to care about him anymore and now all of a sudden the new villagers Sasha and Shino are popular even though their personality is the same as most of the other villagers.

I really hope in the next mainline AC game they would try and at least improve the villagers personality because making 413 villagers and letting them have the same personality really isn't enough to branch out and try new ideas with new personalities and animal species. I am also shocked that I didn't even know that villagers from the original AC never made an appearance but some of them were brought back, but again the personalities are all the same. Maybe I would be more excited for the new villagers have the personalities been new. I am not hating, I am just being really honest here.

Yes, but I hope that doesn't mean cutting villagers out. Or having them locked behind certain AC games. And I hope they would consider filling out certain personalities a bit more than others to help them even out some. New Sisterlys vs New Normals for example.
I would even be down for revamping an existing villager because they wanted a new look in life. Just like people do sometimes as they get older or after they move, or some other life changing event. (maybe controversial for fans of said villager?)

Someone's probably mentioned these, but I've seen amazing art of fan made bat and bug villagers! I mean, if I have to give an octopus and frog to Blathers with Tad and Marina looking over my shoulder, I would feel no shame doing the same with a cute, fuzzy bee or moth villager nearby.

Also, I saw someone above her excited about lion cubs, and I think that's brilliant. Let's get us some lion cubs and wolf cubs.
