i don't know why but i hate the use of word aesthetic. something about the way people on the internet try to fit everything into the same 4 ou 5 aesthetics. a lot of the ones people shared in this thread don't fit in cleanly into a box. anyways, here's mine

My real life aesthetic is sort of cozy earth tones with some antiques or a mildly bohemian vibe. My secret life aesthetic (lol, I don't have a secret life just ACNH) is Victorian Absinthe Fairy Bottle Green Gothic. I wish there were more items in ACNH to achieve this look. I like the black and dark green floral wallpaper with the black antique set though. I like to hang the Wistful and Scenic paintings with it.

I also love Steampunk and Medieval/Tudor era looking stuff.

These old drive ins are the best. And so are drive in movie theaters. There are still some old drive ins in the midwest but of course, the cars are more modern.

This has been my aesthetic for maybe the past couple years. Water and mountains. Basically the whole PNW area. I’ve spent so much time there, i think it’s the place for me.

Mine is the all-over-the-place type. I think. This collage is made up of my own photos of my own stuff.

I like really colourful things. Top left is a picture of a couple of my bookshelves. The balls are modular origami. But, I also like minimalistic, less colourful things that look clean and stark. Skeletal hand and skull rings are among my favourite accessories. Top right-middle is a doodle. I like drawing with black ink, not colour. While my room is filled with colourful things I make or collect, I dress myself mostly in black and generally very dark colours. I try not to draw attention to myself. (Not me in bottom left! My BJD doll! ) I prefer curves to lines, so I like plants that look a little out of control. Plants in top row are my tillandsia. Decor-wise, I believe less is more. Warm tones make me happy. Top right are my slippers in the kitchen and bottom right is a living room wall. Framed picture is a jigsaw puzzle I completed. It used to be all shades of deliciously warm brown. Years of exposure to sunlight coming into the room faded everything.

My other aesthetic preference are 50's (sometimes 60's) and 90's cartoons (UPA and UPA-styled cartoons are my favorite); Especially the old book illustrations and illustrators in general (like Gordon Laite etc.)

So I made an oopsie- I put a lot of effort into a moodboard, problem is one photo I included was Chainsaw Man fanart with blood pretty prominently on it. It’s a wonderful piece of fanart but I think that falls under violence so I won’t post it here.

So instead I’ll show a compressed version of my mood board and a couple of photos that were also otherwise omitted since they were around that fanart.

Also, I know there are contradictory elements here- that’s part of the point, I’m a dynamic person. Maybe I overthought the mood board and honestly, that one piece of fanart completes it.

All that loft stuff with hygge touches. A liiiittle expensive (I love casually wearing suits so Kento is there for that too). Some macabre and cold stuff I’m endlessly fascinated with and that fits me having gone through so much, some stuff I can‘t explain. But hey I also like anime and I like cartoony stuff if they still hold these kinda qualities and are stylish, that’s a little pop culture. So there’s a Kento and some concept art and game screenshots. And some music discs and I live for prog rock. Also, I’m very interested in texture, not someone who likes smoothed-out graphics or something. I like interesting shapes in nature, they’re there abstracted in the Roger Dean art and in the branches around that raven.

The dual-disc photo isn’t mine by the way. But great album and disc designs.

I love ravens in particular so that’s more than just looking for a spooky image. My favorite animal.

colors: purples/blues, bits of green, warm orange/brown, mostly dim lighting. Dim lighting is very important for me to live in. Even in the highly-saturated Crash screenshot and open-lighting loft there are lots of dim-looking cozy nooks and walls…

Maybe doing these yearly would be fun or it’d end up like a yearly collage. I’ll try it, maybe.

i love all things pink and soft, i love pastels. i also have this very very odd obsession with lavender, soft blue and pink color schemes that seem really dreamy and ethereal. like i use it a lot in everything. the middle top image is a dream dress of mine. i love the illustration on it because of the color scheme i mentioned and also made me fall in love with crystal and crystalline-looking things.
i also v much want those keycaps once i build my new PC. theyre on the wishlist for me.
