Signature help!!!

Hello everyone,

Sorry if I sound like a bit of a noob, I haven't really ventured into the signature side of TBT. I would like to create my own signature, rather than have someone else make it, but the thing is, I'm not quite sure how to.

I have had experience with apps like superimpose that are like photoshop, but I've never tried it using GIFs and I'm not really sure what programs to use. Also, I was wondering, where I can find those little villager cartoons that everyone has in their signatures? I am using a MacBook air and would like to know what applications (preferably free ones) that I can use to create a signature, with a background in a shape with added text and those lil cartoons.

Also, GIMP is a great free program which has pretty much all of photoshop's basic functions you could try out.

I have a problem. I've finally made a signature and have uploaded it, but I can't see it on any of my posts. It says when I go to edit my signature that my current signature image is there, so how come I can't see it?
