So, one of my first and favorite games for the Wii U was Skylanders Imaginators. I still play it from time to time, but for the most part, it's not a game I play anymore because GameStop doesn't sell the figures for it that I need. My favorite Imaginator I created was a Life Brawler I named Weedwhacker. So, if Nintendo were going to do a Skylanders game for the Switch, would you rather a brand new title, or a port of Imaginators?
It'd rather be a brand new title, but of course, remove the toys to life function and add some other way to play as certain Skylanders. Of course, they'll still let you use the toys to play the game, but they won't have any added affect. That way, those that don't have the toys VS those that do won't miss out on something that only those that have the toys do.
They can most likely release new sets of Skylanders each month which of course costs gold, the currency you collect to upgrade your Skylanders. Wouldn't want the leftover gold you collect after you fully upgraded one go to waste. Of course, those that already have the toys would unlock them without having to pay, but of course, some Skylanders will be locked until their official release. That way, those that again, don't have the toys won't feel left out on them seeing someone playing as a Skylander they can't unlock yet because it isn't released yet. If they are released officially, then that certain toy will be compatible.
Hopefully they won't go the toys to life route, because that's one of the main reasons why the franchise failed.

And the Switch already has the 6th main title of the series on it.
