So, I kinda just wanted to make this weird rant thing to get a few things off my chest about the Nintendo original smash brothers 4. So, let's begin. Excuse me being a nerd.

So lately there have been a outbreak of this new style that games have been going for, dlc, most games have dlc's that increase the length of single player, change get more skin customization and more. But there is also a different style of dlc's the type that give players advantages in return for money, this alone is stupid but when you bring it into multiplayer, it gets even more annoying. Now here is where smash brothers 4 comes in. In the Nintendo eShop (Virtual shop built into the players device, Here you can purchase games and more.)Is known for having a few dlc's that add on to the game experience, but when you brows your way into the super smash brothers section, there is dlc's you can purchase. But these dlc's give you a character in exchange for a whopping $5. Now there would be nothing wrong with this, but there is something wrong with this, the fact you can use these $5 characters in multiplayer against normal players, And you may be thinking "This thread is dumb, the characters probs do nothing" But that's not the case, these characters latterly in some situations can 3-5 hit you, now that you're on my side, here is why I think this is extremely stupid in every way, When you buy the game, you should have access to all the characters, with a exception of single player games, the reason for this is, most Nintendo players tend to me children, mowing lawns daily for this one game that they have been saving up for, for weeks on weeks. Or maybe even ask there parents for the game they so desperately want, so why, why should little Timmy get a disadvantage for not having the latest dlc, this is just so stupid to me, wake up Nintendo, we spent $40 dollars, 40 hole dollers, Not everyone is rich.. I don't know, say your thoughts as well, I would be more then willing to read them. Rant over

I disagree with this in its entirety. Many game companies engage in offering DLC for games. It's good for a couple reasons: 1. Adds more value to the game and keeps it active. 2. Prevents game from further delay to add said content. The DLC characters are far from being cheap. I don't follow tiers, but if you do you'll see most of the top tier characters are characters that were already in the game. Not buying the DLC doesn't effect your gameplay much at all. You miss out on a couple characters, but you still get to play the levels online whether you own them or not.

Yeah, sorry to say it, but DLC are ADDITIONAL downloadable content. Meaning you don't need to get it and also it won't change anything for you. Also, you can't blame Smash Bros.. An astounding amount of games have DLC, which is completely optional. I understand you find it unfair because you don't have them, but if you blame Smash Bros., then you should have no problem blaming the whole video game industry. Fire Emblem allows you to buy new maps to get characters, which in Fates, can be used in online mode. Mario Kart 8 has Link and Villager who you can buy with other characters and cups, but are they impossible to beat? Far from it. Gaming Companies have to make additional cash off their games some how, and also to keep things fresh while making them a privilege, otherwise, characters like Bayonetta and Corrin and the others aren't special, and it kind of actually ruins it in my opinion. I personally disagree with your opinion.

Nintendo does DLC right, IMO. (Most of the time, at least).

A lot of companies will cut things from a game, and then have people pay even more just to get the full experience, whereas Nintendo tends to make additional content after having already delivered a completed game. Smash Bros 4 already had a large amount of fighters, even ignoring the clones. They didn't have to take additional time to create more characters and stages for people, but they did. It's not something they owed to the player.

Essentially, I don't agree with your post.

Your reply is invalid, 1.I agree with you 2. It does effect game play, cloud, and other dlc's are all up there near tier 1/2

Yeah, so are a ton of the starter characters and no DLC characters are in the S tier yet. Like I said though, I don't even go by tiers. I thought it was worth a mention at least. I believe a player makes the character. This post just sounds whiny to me because you can't seem to beat cloud. He has bad recovery and he has to charge up his killer moves. All I have to say is learn to adapt. It's okay to complain, but it if you refuse to learn to beat a character then just don't play online. Do you know how many spammers I have to deal with? I don't quit because of those a-holes. I try to find other ways to win against them.

You're putting words in my mouth.. This post is based on the fact that Nintendo charges money to get more characters after you spend $40 on a game.

Well you were complaining people with the DLC characters have an unfair advantage so no it doesn't just sound like the money is the issue. I was saying people who own the DLC characters and use them can be beat with the already available characters. Like Dapperlace said, there are already a ton of available characters to play as and additional characters are just a luxury. Imagine if Nintendo released these characters/stages when the game came out. That would take more time and effort, yes? That would have delayed the game even further. Also, players were given the option to vote for who they wanted in Smash later so the certain characters wouldn't have been available from the start anyways.

lmao are people still complaining about Cloud?
Anyways think of it this way: what if you bought the character for 5 or 6 dollars (depending on the character), only to find out that they're one of the worst characters in the game? This happened with Mewtwo when he first came out. He's been buffed heavily since at least, but what would be the point in spending money to get one of the worst characters in the game? If you want to torture yourself that much just main Zelda. There's also only 4 ways you can play against someone:
1. Locally, in which case, either everyone or nobody has access to the character on the Wii U version, or you can just ask your friend(s) to not use *Insert character name here* on the 3DS version.
2. With a friend online in which case you can just ask them to not use *Insert character name here*
3. In a tournament, which everyone would have access to every character.
4. For Fun/Glory which are both terrible modes anyways and make play worse at the game so you should just avoid these anyways.
So really none of these give anyone an "unfair advantage" If you get some extra money, then just buy the characters you want. I have more than enough money for all 7 characters but I haven't purchased a few simply because I don't care about those characters or the stages that come with them (if they have one).

Also just saying that the tier list you posted is super outdated, it doesn't even have Bayo or Corrin. And it wasn't an accurate list at the time anyways.

:lemon:

The difference I see is that, in MK8, if someone doesn't have the DLC, then they can't join an online tourney, and in FE if you don't have the DLC, the streetpass player defaults back to Tactician. (Idk about Fates, but that's how it is in Awakening. )

Hey yeah, only Bayonetta, Cloud, Mewtwo and Ryu are high in the tier lists, The rest are Mid-tier at best.

So really, The only character that would make sense in your OP is Bayonetta alone, but all of these characters have weaknesses and definitely are beatable.

To me, it sounds like you are frustrated with the characters being DLC because they are "better" or more powerful.

I can kick any Cloud or Bayonetta's butt any day with Ness, who has been in the game since N64.

DLC is fun and adds excitement when new things are released later on.

What I DO think is stupid about the Smash Bros DLC is how expensive the characters are. A character should not cost a 1/4th of the game's price to me that is too much.

i think the solution here for u is to get good and shut up.

I think the solution here, is for you to get good grammar. Also, you do not know how good I am at the game, judging how you have never fought me.

Point A: They were making it ironic. Have you seen them anywhere else on the forums to judge their grammar
Point B: They're basing their knowledge on how good you by what you say. The fact that you're complaining about DLC characters being OP (although I really hate that #PayToWin thing some Bayonnaise players do) shows that you are very irritable and are unable to control yourself at losses to DLC characters.

Now it's time for my thoughts on this whole thing. Here's one thing you should always remember: TIERS DON'T MATTER. It's the player who plays the character. Take ZeRo and some other random Sheik player. That random Sheik player could not even come close to ZeRo's skillset unless they practiced for months on end. Sheik is supposedly "S Tier". This does not mean everyone who plays Sheik will get free wins. So what I'm really trying to say here is...

m8 just git gud an git ur mind out uv the guter and check urself b4 u proceed 2 get rekt u skrub

Yes, but I only meant characters. For MK8, you could not have the DLC and still be against Link or Villager, but they aren't some kind of killing machine.

Okay, you can't stop people from using these characters. You're clearly envious of these people and that's why you are upset. You do not in any way need these characters; they are just to freshen up the game. I really don't see why you are so upset, because people want to have fun and Nintendo is being quite fair, with already having a huge roster without DLC characters.
