Pokémon So Diamond and Pearl got remakes and Uhm..

Honestly I'm more hype for the legend of Arceus game than DP remakes. From my perspective it looks like they did a copy paste of DP from the DS to the Switch, which is meh, but I totally understand why they did it. By making the new DP game exactly like the old game with a reskin, they have less possibility of angering older fans while still providing a fresh new adventure for newer or younger fans. They are trying to dodge the "its not like the old games" and "Pokemon doesn't make good games anymore" etc. critiques by just releasing a carbon copy of DP with a revamped art style/graphics. Personally I am not a fan of this chibi style, but I'm not upset about it either.

The Legends game on the other hand is a fresh new take on the Sinnoh region and Pokemon games overall, and I'm super excited. I think this is an awesome direction for Pokemon, and I really believe they can reach new audiences and impress their current audience/fans with this style of game. I really hope it does not disappoint. I think this pokemon direct was best case scenario for everyone since dedicated fans got their Sinnoh remakes and a cool new Pokemon game simultaneously.

Personally while I am pleased with the direct, I think it would have been really cool if they combined these two games into one. They could remade Sinnoh in feudal Japan era like the Legends game, while still having the same gameplay as traditional pokemon games (DP) with city progression and gyms. Maybe instead of cities in Sinnoh it could have been villages, and instead of gyms maybe back then they had something else. They could have added megas or dynamax to this too. But regardless, I think what they announced was great, since like I said, they were able to give people what they wanted (Sinnoh remakes) and also an additional new game.

I never played the original Diamond and Pearl games but when I saw the remake I thought "Oh no this will disappoint a lot of fans since they were expecting this grand new remake but all they got was a chibi remake." I'm not too much of a fan of the Chibi art style considering all the new games are now using full models so the Chibi style literally feels like they took a step backwards in quality. The Legends of Arceus is what I'm looking forward too tbh honest. It looks WAAAAAY better than the DP remakes.

Platinum was one of my favorite games ever. I certainly hope these remakes use the Platinum Pokedex. *Looks at Flint with his Lopunny and Drifblim.* 🤞

Not that hyped for Diamond/Pearl remakes, (it'll be hard to beat Platinum for me) but Legends of Arceus looks really interesting, I've always wanted a Pokemon game set in the past! Sinnoh is the perfect region to use for this type of game too, since it's so heavily influenced by Dialga, the time pokemon.

I'll be going for Brilliant Diamond I think.

I wouldn't necessarily call BDSP "remakes". They feel more like remastered versions. ORAS were genuine remakes because not only did it have updated graphics it also had enhanced features like DexNav and Gen 6 mechanics such as Mega Evolution. Going by trailer, BDSP seems like the same game I played back in Gen 4...only on the Switch and chibi-fied. Until another trailer comes out with more information about it, my hype and hopes are for Pokemon Legends.

The DP remakes we're not remakes at all. It's literally the same game with new graphics. I'm not impressed and I haven't even played the originals. I don't know if I'll be willing to drop 60 dollars on the games when they release.

Idk, I've been looking at people's reactions online towards the DP "remakes" and they seem pretty good or at least neutral, which I think was what Nintendo was hoping for (they didn't want a mob of angry fans @ ing them on twitter for example). The chibi style took people by surprise but the fact that they copied the gameplay exactly kind of saves it. Even though I'm personally not a fan of this particular art style, I do accept it as an improved version of the original DP graphics.

But my main point is, this is probably the reason why they dropped two games instead of one- they knew they couldn't please old and new fans with a single game. I've seen peoples comments online saying the new Legends game looks lame while the DP remakes are lit, and vice versa. The fact that y'all are more excited for one game over the other proves this point, and still seems like a win in Nintendo's book.

Yeah, I'm saving my Judgment for the next trailer. No new forms, no following Pokémon, nothing new was really shown. If Dialga or Palkia get nothing I'm saving my money for Legends next year. Why buy a $60 game when I can play the same game for free on an emulator.

I think the Chibi Artstyle was a great choice and done so well. I will be skipping these games because I did not like them the first time around. However, I hope they stick to this artstyle for future retro remakes!!
I am waaay more interested in Pokemon Legends Arcesus. I want to know if there is a multiplayer aspect to it or not. I like how they did the overworld, how you can catch pokemon by creeping around and throwing a ball in the overworld. I don't know if I will get this game yet or not. It depends on what other info there is on it that will come out with time.

I'm very happy about BDSP, and I'm a little disheartened by how many fans switched on the games the moment they were revealed; it's been wanted for so long and just like that, you almost wouldn't even know people were asking for them. The Chibi-style was definitely jarring at first, but it makes total sense given that DP had that same style. I honestly didn't want a game completely changed, since I'm aching to relive the exact same experience as in 2007.

Also people are saying the graphics for it suck, BUT HAVE Y'ALL SEEN THE WATER?? Very nice and very crisp. Sword and Shield might not be as cutesy, but at least BDSP have consistent graphics and trees that don't look like they're from the N64 era.

As for the Legends Arceus game, I'm also super excited for that! It looks like the game everyone has been wanting from Pokemon, and whole it looks very rough around the edges, GameFreak has plenty of time to smoothen it out. I also noticed that when Gallade used Slash, it actually ran up and used it, which is an improvement to Sword and Shield where (I think) they just attacked in place.

I wasn't really a fan of gen IV anyway, but this looks... rather generic. Hopefully it will shape up to be better, but I'm not expecting it.

I did really like the 'chibi' way it looks, mayve cause I enjoy the older games more and it looks similar?
Either way it looks cute!
I'm just hoping cynthia is still really hard to beat.

I remember years ago I would stay up all night trying to beat her, sweating bullets everytime, such an aderaline rush!

Since it's a "faithful" remake, I'm really hoping that Garchomp is as OP as it was in the original games. The newer games are so easy, so I'm longing for a challenge.

i feel kind of meh about this reveal. i'm happy for fans who've been waiting for sinnoh remakes! but i'm not sure how i feel about the graphics....
