So, from what you’ve played so far, do you like the game?

I was just thinking I’d ask this as there’s already a rant thread. :p

I have minor issues with it but for the most part, I’m enjoying it a lot. I’m not much a critic though so there’s that. :lemon: I loved what I played of Wild Word & New Leaf. In some ways I prefer this game and in other ways I don’t.

I think after it’s been a year we’ll all have a more well rounded opinion either way. :)

i do. there’s only so much to do everyday and it definitely has some faults but it’s so nice to play ac again c:

It’s ok, I guess. First it’s really grindy and stressful, and then when the grinding is over there’s nothing to do.

I agree. Even my fish/bug encyclopedia has really grown. Just from a brief look I’m probably close to 50% complete already. I don’t TT either.

I like this game. I’ve played all the previous games and even though there are some things missing, the overall experience of playing New Horizons is the best for me, so far. I tend to play in longer bursts throughout the day now because of the Nook Miles + mini goals. It keeps making me want to play to earn more miles. In previous games, once I’m done with my daily tasks, I’ll stop for the day. That’s not the case here. Also, I enjoy the little things more. The enhanced visual and the overall experience. I noticed I want to log into the game just to see what my villagers are up to. They like to call for me and talk. They smell flowers. They run around like an airplane. They sing. Those things make me want to see them more. In previous games, they just walk around so I don’t really look forward to seeing them.

Also, I have less stress in this game compared to the others. I like how I feel I’m in control in terms of where I can put stuff like houses and buildings. I also like how I’m not stressed over placement of stuff since things can be moved in the future. On the other hand, I also love the randomness of the game. It auto saves which curbs desire to get things perfect through resetting. I also like the fact that the campers and mystery tours, as well as who buys the house plots are random. It curbs the desire for resetting for specific villagers and dreamies, making islands have more diverse villagers and unique experiences (I don’t use amiibos since dreamies ruined New Leaf for me) and therefore results in very real feelings of surprise, delight, excitement and sometimes disappointment and anger. Just like real life. Lol.

Mostly, yeah. I still miss some features and characters(but thinking they'll be patched in later), feel it has a way too slow start, and the tools breaking and having to be recrafted all the time is the most annoying mechanic I've seen in an AC game, but overall I like the gane

Maybe it’s just because I don’t feel motivated to do much in general, especially now, but I do not feel like playing the game anymore outside of online sessions. I had to fight tooth and nail just to get K.K. Slider, and in the process of trying to get him I unlocked all the shops and whatnot. And it’s probably just me, but I hate how they’re locking important things behind updates.

Saddening that even this game can not make me happy during this stressful time. Just made me more stressed. Now I’m exhausted. Not physically. Mentally tired.
