I have really REALLY missed Shari on my island and managed to get her amiibo along with a few others I really want on my island.
I invited Shari today and man, I didn't realized how much I missed her until I saw her in that screen cut. She is so cute and sassy!

Anywho, I was disappointed to find out today, that after you invite them and fulfill their request, I will have to invite them again,... and possibly a third time just to get them to move in.
I mean, why is it two days minimum to get them on your island when you have an amiibo and a quest? Was it like this in past animal crossing games?
It would take forever to get your whole island set up if you did all 10 villagers and a real inconvenience if you where wanting to rotate by amiibo.
Maybe I just expect too much. I mean, I would be fine with it if maybe I didn't have pre-assumptions I suppose. I know it is like convincing a tourist to live on your island. You give them things crafted on your island as souvenirs that are supposedly unique. So my fault, but still. If you wanted to rotate every month, it could take 30 days just to put 10 villagers on your island. You can't really rotate every month because of that. I was expecting 10 days for 10 villagers. lol.

Happy to have Shari back soon. :)

Its just a flat 3 days as far as I'm aware.

I kinda like that you have to bring them back a couple of times. Gives you time to change your mind, which is a very nice thing. Nearly made a few choices I would have regretted.

I think the only people who live on my island and not moved in via amiibo are sherb and cyd

Yeah, like @Moritz said, it's 3 days total. A tad annoying if you have multiple villagers you want to scan in at once, but I don't mind, especially since I space out when I want them :)

I have amiibo cards and yeah it is a time consuming process. Unless you time travel it will take 3 days to invite the villager you want on your island and then you have to craft them Souvenirs on each day in order to convince them to move in. The good news is that the game actually lets you pick who you want to move out instead of RNG with the Card mini game normally. Its really helpful to change out villagers if you don't want to wait 15 days for a villager to have a thought bubble so they will be able to move out.

I'm okay with the three day invite thing... but I kinda wish it was more of an optional thing.

Hear me out: Like, you invite them once and there's only a 5% chance they'll accept to move in if you badger them long enough with repeated talking. Then on the second day, it raises to 35% or something. And then on the third day, it's 80% and you can have them move in almost every time. At least it'd make things less predictable, in a way?

The high point of inviting them is that when you do you can choose who you want to move out. If there's a villager you can't get rid of, there's your out. On the third time after you choose who to move out so your amiibo villager can move in, they prior will immediately be put into boxes. This works well when you're swapping villagers or want to give one to a friend. I've sat on the third invite and just waited until someone had a plot available, invited my amiibo and put the villager of mine they wanted in boxes right away. It gives you options which is a nice thing.

Oh yeah, totally agreed. It was kind of a blessing for me in my New Leaf town because, outside of Angus, I disliked most of my villagers and I just had no luck in getting villagers to move out in a timely fashion until the Welcome Amiibo update came in and I could finally kick those guys out XD

Well thats good! I figured it was random and i would have to reset like with the cards. That makes it easier.

I don't like that amiibos take 3 days now. It's needlessly annoying... especially if they request things that need books, boxes, or gold that I may not have on hand. One day should be enough.

What's annoying is when they ask for something and you don't have the ability to craft that said thing because you are missing certain ingredients. However, with the power of time travel that's pretty null and void. You can always TT back after they've moved in with no penalty other than weeds which is winning in my eyes.

It would be great if it was one day though. I also really like how you can pick who you want to move out, like you don't have to wait for them you can just tell him to kick rocks and your new dreamie is moving in. That was such a huge benefit at the start of the game because they all have those god awful wooden block decorated houses that are so ugly imo so it was nice to be able to just scan whoever in and get them.

I'm also excited to see some other Shari love being spread. I just think she is so adorable and sassy she is definitely and underrated villager.

yeah the crafting requests were annoying, i thought you could invite them over and talk to them to get the process done
i also thought that maybe if you talked to the villager after each day, there is a random chance that they might be convinced to move in asap rather than go through the whole process

I have never used amiibo cards but I'm planning on getting the new sanrio ones, less for the villagers than the items tbh. But Maple refuses to leave so that may be my only means of getting rid of her. The 3 day thing does sound like a pain and it didn't occur to me they might ask for something that requires items you don't have. Is there a certain list of items they choose from or is it just any diy you have?

I think its from the list that you can get from that personality type when they're at the work bench.
If you dont have the DIY they will give you it.

ok thanks so much. now you say that i think i remember someone saying that before.
