So, I'm about to finish my forest/springcore island

It's my first time using this type of design. And... I'm not a fan. It's just not for me. I love looking at these islands on youtube and instagram, but I'm so tired of the muted palette and the "restrictions" on what makes up these types of islands. Yes, I know I can do whatever I want, but I've been trying to stay true to the typical style of them. I'm hoping to finish in a week or so, then I'm going to make a dream address, then shortly after that, destroy it. I honestly can't wait.

If you love it, good for you! Whatever style you like, you do you!

I was in too deep before I figured it out. Now it’s just determination getting me through. I’d regret not finishing it, and I really am pretty close.

I know the feeling. When you are done with your island you just feel the need to start over. I've done that 50 times on the 2nd island but then I just need to tell myself "Okay thats enough, I should probably just stick with the basic design" Restarting does start to get tiring after a while.

I'll be flattening, not restarting, if that's what you mean. I've never restarted my island, but I'm very close to it now. But I just can't give up my progress. I am, however, going to give myself a break and just play the game for awhile. Do some fishing, Play some HHP. After I remove the the core'ish stuff. LOL

congratulations on almost finishing a theme! that’s a huge accomplishment (at least in my eyes, as someone who never has the energy or motivation to decorate + has trouble staying consistent lol), but i’m really sorry to hear you don’t like it! i know how unpleasant it feels to work so hard on something for so long, only to not really care for it.

i wish you the best of luck with destroying it, and i’ll definitely check out your DA once you upload it — i find springcore islands hard to navigate a lot of the time, but i’m very curious about yours. i’m sure it turned out beautifully!

congratulations on almost finishing a theme! that’s a huge accomplishment (at least in my eyes, as someone who never has the energy or motivation to decorate + has trouble staying consistent lol), but i’m really sorry to hear you don’t like it! i know how unpleasant it feels to work so hard on something for so long, only to not really care for it.

I actually already know my next theme. I’m going to do a tourist town. Small town mainly supported by the amusement park. Bright colors and kitschy.

oooh, that sounds awesome!! bright colours and kitschy is one of my favourite aesthetic combos tbh. i wish you the best of luck with it, and i hope you like it a lot more than springcore haha. <3

I have a very rural island, and I can see how that could get boring or feel restrictive. Because I like my general layout and don't want to go through all that again, I've settled on changing the decorative items out on a seasonal and holiday basis. That's been enough to keep me from getting stale.

Sometimes I just recolor items (silo, playground items, etc.), sometimes I use new items.

That's what works for me, but everyone has different styles and needs, which is awesome.

Congrats on nearly finishing a theme (even if you aren't really feeling it anymore). I've had a theme (Sailor Moon) planned since even before launch and I'm still not finished it haha. Though my latest long hiatus hasn't helped. I'm still into my theme though just lack motivation to boot up the game at the moment. I know I'll go back and finish it at some point.

It took me longer than I thought, but I finished! My DA is 3760-8479-5442. Let me know what you think! I did end up liking it by the end.
