So far, I don't think this looks very good.

I need help with adding some lines to the hair, but all the colors I try are too dark or too light.

lighten up her hair color a bit so you can see the shading on top of it more clearly. use the marker tool to draw roots starting from the center to wherever the strand of hair ends. finish it off by softening it up a bit using the water color tool. at least, thats what i do.

Maybe some more highlights and a bit of blush?
