the thumbnails for the videos are bigger and now every time i try to open it the app crashes before the main page can load. is this happening to anyone else?

If you're talking about 3DS : Sometimes it may happen 3ds YT app is only good at hacking things

If you're talking about Wii U. I really don't know, i have never used that

I've never used it because it's way too glitchy and slow... If you have a New 3DS, you can watch videos right from the internet browser. :p

The only time I used it was back when it first released (and that was just to check it out), but even back then, it didn't seem very useful. Sure, you could watch a couple of videos with it, but they were all in a low resolution and the app was slow and buggy. I'm not that surprised that you're experiencing crashes and problems with it, to be honest. It's sad that Google and Nintendo still haven't worked to fix out its problems. If you have a New 3DS, you can just watch videos through the Internet Browser instead of the app. Otherwise, it would probably just be best to watch YouTube videos on another device like a phone.

I think it's been getting worse and worse over time. When I first used it on my old 3DS, it was buggy. Sometimes it would crash randomly. I felt like each update made it glitch more often. Then I stopped using it for a while. I later downloaded it onto my New 3DS XL and it's nearly unusable now as it refuses to play most of the videos I select for no reason at all. Even some videos I remember having it play in the past will not play at all. But the New 3DS's Internet Browser does let me watch videos without those problems.

This happened to mine recently. I deleted the app from the system settings menu and went to the eshop to download it again. It works for me now.

The only reason i have youtube on my 3ds is so I can see the Smash replays from my friends whenever I am not close to my wii U or somewhere else out of my home.

I have the Youtube app on my 3DS, but I prefer to use the browser instead since it's better in all categories.

I think the app was always useless tbh. Who would want to waste their 3DS battery on something they could do on their phone, computer, or tablet? The battery sucks, why make it worse?

To be fair, not everyone has a Wii U though. Some people who wants to see video posted in Miiverse wants to use their 3ds to watch them. Or possibly don't even have a computer to watch Miiverse post on the browser for the video. So i wouldn't say it is a total waste.

... Am I the only one whose YouTube app works perfectly in the 3Nds? I never had any internet issues there.
