I have so many questions now about how all this will be implemented.
Feel free to chime in with your own speculation!

✨ How exactly will we be able to go through the process of designing ("remodeling") a villager's house? And can we do the exterior?
✨ Will the shop owners of Harvey's Plaza have a lot more to offer? I sure hope so. Or are they just there to be permanent merchants?
✨ If we are getting loads new furniture, does that mean we get other new things? Accessories....craft materials....etc... just new stuff in general?
✨ Will there be QOL updates that they just didn't mention?
✨ Will there be misc updates/changes in how the game functions? (example: like how after WA update in new leaf, villagers can no longer plop their houses on patterns)

Let me just answer the OP questions:

1. I'm pretty sure they said in the AC Direct that if you done enough designs with the Happy Home Paradise update you will be able to change villager homes on your home island. We don't know what requirements you need to do that so Its unknown.

2. That is a very good question and it also raises the question of if the special villagers are going to be there does that mean they will no longer be showing up at the Plaza or wondering around our island. Especially Redd because if he's there then what is going to happen to the Secret location where he parts his boat on our island?

3. Its very likely there is a lot more new furniture that they haven't shown in the AC Direct so we will have to wait and see when the update comes out.

4. I am really hoping that they add bulk crafting, quantity selection, and improvements to breaking tools since I was shocked they didn't show it.

5. Well they say that this is the "Last Major Free Update: so it means that they will stop doing big free updates, but still update the game with small changes and updates. Its possible that more paid updates could come in the future if they feel like they want to keep the game alive longer, or just forget about it and move on to the next mainline AC game. It will be interesting to see how the game flows going forward into 2022 because I hope we get to see Shop upgrades since they didn't show it in the direct.

I\\\The update is so exciting! I'm sure there will be a few minor things that didn't get covered in the update.

I'm glad you made this topic. There are a few things I'm wondering about, too.

1. What will Reese do? Does she have a role, too? Or is it just Cyrus with the customizations?

2. What do the customizations by Cyrus mean for the catalog? I noticed that items you've had customized by him have a Re-tail (Reese and Cyrus) Alpacas mark. Does that mean the new color won't be added to the catalog so we can't reorder the item in that color? Or will they be added to the catalog normally?

3. Does Cyrus make the music boxes like in New Leaf? Or do we learn DIYs for them?

4. Are the fossil miniatures back?? I really miss them... I wish Cyrus would make them again... Or we could get DIYs for them.

5. Are the colored ores from past games going to be added? In the HHP portion of the Direct, they showed two mining carts outside and one inside Timmy & Tommy's vacation house with purplish gems (amethysts) inside. There's also one with stone or whitish gems. Are these customizable? If so, maybe the ores will be back? Like rubies, diamonds, sapphires, etc. I hope so. If so, maybe we can use them to customize the gold tools to extend durability? Or make a new tier of tools? (Doubtful...)

6. Will there be new fruits?

7. They said something about changes to the Dodo Airlines Mystery Island Tours. Will there be new fruits on them or on Kapp'n's tours? Maybe they'll add an ore rock island?

8. Are they going to make all the fruits available from the Dodo Airlines Mystery Island Tours and/or Kapp'n's Tours? As it is now, you can only get your native fruit from your island, a sister fruit plus coconuts from the Mystery Island Tours, and possibly a fourth fruit from "Mom." You have to get the others from trading. But if you can't trade, you'll probably be locked out of certain cooking recipes...

9. What about the new Plaza items from the NookStop Nook Miles rewards? I was thinking maybe they were items our villagers could put in the Plaza and interact with, like how they can add a bench or BBQ grill or stools? Or maybe we can place them there at times when the Plaza isn't being used??

10. Is the HHP archipelago shared between players on the same island? Or does each player get their own separate archipelago to work on??

In response to your questions. I think the Traveling Vendors will still come to our islands once every two weeks like they have been. It looks like their inventory at Harv's is limited. Redd shows two pieces of art instead of four. Also, Redd seems to have his raffle box from the August fireworks shows, so I bet there are new features and/or inventory, too. Wonder if Saharah and Kicks will have new items??c

I really hope we get other new items like new clothing items, accessories, etc. We should be getting a lot of new handheld food and drink items from cooking. Maybe Brewster will have other items besides coffee?? I hope so!

I really hope we get some QoL updates and other things. I think there will be lots of things they didn't mention, most of them small, maybe.

Of course I'm not 100% sure, but I think the little Re-tail logo is just to show which items can be customized by the alpacas. Similar to how there is DIY kit symbol for most furniture, a pumpkin symbol for Spooky items and a feather symbol for Festivale items.

Thanks for making this topic, Brookie! Since we have about 2 more weeks to wait, we may as well try to make the time pass by faster with speculating! It's been fun to read these threads seeing what people are excited about and hope for.

✨ Will there be misc updates/changes in how the game functions? (example: like how after WA update in new leaf, villagers can no longer plop their houses on patterns)

- I bet we can probably re-design a villager house through Isabelle. At least, I think that would be a great place to put it. At this point I only talk to her the once in a blue moon I feel like changing the town flag or tune, so I would love another reason to chat with her. I HOPE that we can do the exterior but at the same time I somehow wouldn't be surprised if we couldn't. But if I was forced to guess, I will be optimistic and say yes. They are giving us more house exteriors, after all!

- I think the shop owners of Harvey's Plaza will have more than just making them permanent merchants. Obviously, Leif will sell starts for the new produce. I think Redd's box won't have the fireworks raffle tickets. That would take away from the "specialness" of that event. I think he will have new items in his box instead. Maybe it will be the return of fortune cookies. Maybe it will be the return of the love tester and other items he had in NL. I'd like to see the return of gem stones, and hopefully Reese/Cyrus can do something with that. I'm also hoping Reese/Cyrus can make us dinosaur models. For Saharah, maybe she will have brand new rugs/wallpapers/floors in addition to the old ones.

- My only speculation of new things is possibly gemstones. We definitely are getting new craft materials obviously because of the new produce, but I don't know if we will get more than that. There's a lot of possible furniture they could put in, so even just a huge dump of furniture is exciting to me. I booted up HHD the other day, and there was a lot of pieces that we simply don't have right now that I'd like to see return. Brand new things are great too!

- I HOPE there's QoL updates but I actually doubt this will be put in. Nintendo has had plenty of opportunity to add QoL updates since the game came out, and they have only added a few. While I'd like to see QoL updates, their time is better spent just making more content in general I think.

- I don't think we'd have updates on how the game functions (unless there's some existing glitches that they fix). In some ways I don't want them to change anything. If they change weather patterns, for example, that will completely break MeteoNook and I don't think Ninji will fix that. I just worry about that because I thought I saw mention of one of the more recent updates adding a few new weather patterns that exist in the code, but they just haven't been implemented yet.

They showed the player character's inventory and only three of the items had the Alpacas symbol, so I was worried this meant that only items that had been customized would have that symbol next to them. I just rewatched that part of the Direct, though, and noticed the one item that didn't have the symbol is the Log Bench, which we can customize ourselves. So I think you're right!

Thank you so much for posting that! It makes me feel a lot better. I've been trying to complete the catalog but can't go online for trades because of my Internet settings, so it's been hard getting things in different colors.

The first item (まるたのベンチ) is the Log Bench, the second, the Soft-serve Lamp (ソフトクリームランプ).

I haven't read any theories about these, so this is purely gut-speculation ((so sorry if I miss anything obvious!!))

1. I think we will only be able to initially re-model interiors, and then maybe as you progress through HHP, you might be able to re-do exteriors? I am not confident that we'll be able to do exteriors because I don't remember them saying much, if anything, about that, but would really love it if we could.
2. I think we'll definitely see new items, even if the total inventory per day doesn't change! I am also curious if they will still visit the plaza or if they'll be permanently stationed on Harv's Island.
3. I haven't thought about new accessories or craft materials. The vine climbed in the Direct might be new material (or is it the sugar cane crop?) Would love it if we got more new items than just furniture, but I wouldn't be surprised if not.
4. This is the one I'm hoping for the most, but also maybe the most skeptical about. I'd LOVE it if we got bulk crafting, but that's been such a publicly asked for update that I would've guessed they'd introduce or highlight it in the Direct. :/ It seems like a "simple" enough addition, so it will be disappointing for me if they haven't added that, or something like being able to island-hop on mystery islands.
5. Hmmmm. I wonder if they'll add new dialogue so it is less repetitive, but this is also something I hadn't considered! I would love it if the villagers stopped walking where I was trying to terraform tho lol
