I feel like those are his lips and they are orange to match his hair (and yes teeth). Chrissy has lips that disappear when she opens her mouth, that and the other Rabbits that show teeth, Carmen and Cole, are obviously teeth, where O'hares are not.

Ehhh Beavers and Rabbits, aren't that closely related. Their closest relative was around 50 million years ago.

Beavers belong to the order Rodentia and rabbits belong to Lagomorpha. We've not had cross-species families in Animal Crossing yet, O'hare's teeth are orange for the same reason Paulo is a pink elephant, it is just his color scheme.
