The way to do it is DON'T press A. Just move the control stick. You'll move super slow and will eventually be able to dive down right on top of, or right next to, them. Seriously, it WORKS. I used to chase clams literally around all four sides of my island... but sneaking up means I can just grab them!omg i didn't know this was possible. just swim really slow?
haha i'm glad i'm not the only one who didn't know you could sneak up on themInteresting! I didn't know about sneaking. What I would do for the fast moving sea creatures is direct them towards the island or the barriers in the water. The sea creature is forced to turn a different direction when it gets too close to those things and you can swim right into it as it changes directions.
omg yeah it took me sooo long to catch that thingThere's the Venus' flower basket, I have no clue how I was able to get it, but goodness it was so dang fast and trying to catch it was a nightmare!
It's so pretty though!omg yeah it took me sooo long to catch that thing

lol same with the scallops, i'm pretty sure they don't zip around like that in real life... do they? hahaIt’s so funny to me how the Venus’ flower basket is so insanely fast in game, but in real life they don’t even move around! Animal Crossing logic.![]()
oh wow, i didn't realize some of them got that rareI don't have an issue with sneaking up on them. My problem is getting the rarer ones to spawn in the first place. Some of them have such low percentages to appear that they make scorpions/tarantulas feel common. Think I saw the sea pig is 1% to spawn
