As I'm trying to grow fruit trees, with one space in between, away from rivers and other structures, I noticed some trees aren't growing. Is there a rule that only so many trees can grow in a row? Again, with a valid space in between. Or maybe it's not guaranteed all trees will grow? I remember in New Leaf, you couldn't have ~9 trees+bushes touching, probably to block someone in, but this is much different in NH. Thoughts?

AC games are very picky on rules for tree growing, and often have dead spots. The best advice I can offer is to eat some fruit, dig up some trees, and place them in your "dead spots".
Before the game came out, when it was first revealed we could dig up trees, I thought it was hilariously stupid, but after getting to use it a couple times, I think it's really cool, and opens the door for many possibilities...well aside from placing palm trees somewhere other than the beach.
