Sooo, An "owning Both AC:NL formats" question?

So I just had a thought...

If I owned both the physical game cartridge and a downloaded/installed copy from the eShop, could I travel between the two towns or..?

Because when I get my Club Nintendo Points from AC:NL, I get to download a free game thanks to a Nintendo Promotion in England, and one of the 8 games available for download through the promotion is Animal Crossing...

I figured I could simultaneously create and play the two towns but not sure how the travelling would work given they would both rely on one 3DS console and in turn, one Friend Code...?

Thoughts?

No you cannot, not in one 3DS anyway.
But you can do it if you put your cartridge into a different 3DS.

If they're on the same console, then no, because you can't play them both at the same time on one console. They have to be on two different systems.

Ah that sucks. I miss the Gamecube days. They didn't need to be online haha.
