Spectre in the Study [SOLUTION POSTED]

i know i can't post specifics, but while this game was great fun, there was a core part of it that seems really unfriendly towards certain disabled folk. (i can't say which kind, because that would spoil it?) i was wondering, out of curiosity, if there's actually an alternative for that or?

@Mistreil when writing in commands, does capitalisation and punctuation matter

also thankyou for letting me eat something that tasted kk

This was a fun little game, nice to start the event off with it. Thanks for making another game, Mistreil! although my efforts to take everything and anything weren't able to be fully realized 😔

i have officially given up on this, im sturggling so hard with half a code, when this event is finished please release the answers to this so i cna at least work out what i couldnt get

completely stuck because i can't get through one aspect (which i won't specify bc spoilers) but having a great time trying to eat everything in sight <3 thanks for this, mistreil!

i think i know what part this is referring to because i'm pretty sure it's the part i'm stuck on bc i can't [redacted for spoilers] -- seconding the question about if there's an alternative

i third this, i think im stuck on the exact same part, but im glas someone else tried to eat everything they could

The event is really fun 'n cute for the most part: however, i'm struggling a lot on certain part of the puzzle for reasons I won't go into. If there's an alternative for this or if it can be modified to be more easily accessible, that'd be great.

This is otherwise super cute and quirky: reminds me of the 'choose-your-own-adventure' books i've read as a kid!

yeah, if we're on about the same section, it's a massive oversight if there's no alternative. hopefully they'll add one if there isn't already?

Ahhh I’m so glad I chose this room first! I thought I was never going to get it but I finally got one and the other fell right into place. I loved poking around with the text prompts. Such a fun idea!!!

Being vague for spoilers, but I am stuck on the part that I need for the second part. It is right there, but I can't verbalize it right...

I can't tell is I am focusing on the wrong thing, or if I am misunderstanding the objective, but I can't get it to work...

EDIT: Got it. There are multiple logical solutions, but only one works.

I just finished and I feel like there is a workaround, even if someone has said disability. There are multiple clues that point you towards the right direction (if there weren't, then I would've never gotten the answer). Now this is assuming we are referring to the same part lol

it costs nothing to make the game equally as accessible for everyone. disabled people shouldn't have to work twice as hard when there are several viable alternatives that could make it just as fair. (i.e. an anagram or written version.) i personally brute forced the part i'm referring to, but there's no denying that the [redacted] gives an advantage to people that certain disabled folk are denied. i can't really explain why the context clues alone aren't necessarily enough without discussing spoilers.

for the record, i just want to say that this was a very fun game. i loved the detail and it was really nostalgic for me, and i appreciate mistreil taking the time to put it together. i loved their oarfish game during CBT, too. i just think this was a bit of an oversight and that an alternative should be available for certain disabled folk to keep it balanced and fair. yes, there are context clues, but they don't necessarily clarify anything and are overshadowed by the "obvious" solution presented. at least one person has expressed that they are struggling with this core section of the game because of (presumably) a disability/illness, and that's only from today's group of people. i just think it's worth acknowledging that and considering how we can accommodate those people better.

All the clues are in there for everyone alike. I got the answer based on the clues and that extra bit didn't help or hinder me at all. I didn't work twice as hard, I just paid attention. Don't get me wrong, I think it's good that you're being mindful of different abled people, but I just don't think "being able to or not able to" makes a big difference in this instance 🤔

the clues aren't in there for everyone alike, that's literally the point? i also never said you worked twice as hard. might be worth giving the post a reread. like i said, i didn't use [redacted] either, it was completely useless to me, but that doesn't mean it wasn't and won't be useful for other people -- an opportunity/advantage certain disabled folk don't have the privilege of having, and with no alternative in place. it's clearly making a difference for some people, because they've commented on it, and i don't really think it's your place to decide that's not true. if the staff don't want to provide an alternative, that's up to them, i can't change their minds, i'm just putting the idea out there because i think it's worth mentioning.
