So, we finally have a sorta-way to replace villagers we don't want. Once development starts rolling and you reach maximum villagers, you may encounter some that you hate for various reasons and are looking for ways to kick them out. Well New Horizons has a specific method to replace them. Note: This is the same method to get Amiibo villagers to move in and a great method to farm DIY recipes.
So here's what you need:
- A campsite
- Amiibo cards
What you need to do:
Summon your villager through it's amiibo card at the Nook terminal. Once the cutscene is finish, head directly to the campsite and talk to them until you receive a request to make a souvenir for them. They will give you a DIY recipe for you to craft. After you finish their request, speak to them until they ask you if they should move. They will deny your enthusiasm. Repeat this whole cycle until the day they will directly ask you if they should move. If you select "yes" they will mention that the town is full and ask which villager they should ask "politely" to move out. That is when you select your undesired villager to move out and get replaced by the camper.
Here's what I'm not unsure of:
- If there's any requirements for town rating
I only started building my island after I've unlocked K.K.
- If you can get them to move on your 1st try.
Both Bob and Mitzi took me three days to get them moving.
- If you can use regular campers instead of Amiibo
I've gotten some campers when I was capped out of lots but I realized I could buy one more. Kid Cat kept denying my request to move repeatedly. Which was weird cuz with the Amiibo ones, once they denied my request, they never mention it again. Bit once I installed a new plot of land, that's when Kid Cat finally accepted move in. Idk if it was because I could still buy one more plot of land or because he was a regular camper.
- If it works with Dodo island villagers
Never met any other villagers aside from the first time.
