“Assorted” Collector
This is part two of the six parts of the Champion Tournament, the Friday contest. If you want to know, I actually came up with this concept on my own. In fact, I even tried making a similar concept on Little Big Planet. The first round in the Champion Tournament is survival mode, where the last one remaining wins.
At 10:00 AM, the winter carnival opened, but 30 minutes after opening time, there was an announcement made by Kaylee. Everyone were to attend the Ice Rink Stadium, especially the eight contestants. Even the staff went to the stadium. Caroline, Rosie, Cherry, Amelia, Roald, Egbert, Julian, and Bruce all came to the arena part. Kaylee, Jenny, Penny, and Lola were at the broadcast station. Kaylee is the scorekeeper, Jenny is the technician, Penny is the referee, and Lola is the security watch. At the stadium, the cranky animals and snooty animals were on one side of the audience seating, the smug and uchi were on another, the jock and peppy ones were on another, and the lazy and normal animals were on the fourth one. The ride operators, contest hosts, and carnival game vendors were in the audience as well.
At 10:55 AM, Penny made an announcement.
"Welcome ladies and gentlemen!" said Penny, "it's time for the first round of the Champion Tournament! To those who are playing, you know how to play, so you are ready to compete. However, it's different from the tutorial. Each one of you will have 20 points. In this round, the points represent your life, and if you run out of points, you lose the round. The last one remaining or the one who has the most points in one hour wins. The winner will get to choose who's out. Are you ready! Let the late morning game begin!"
All eight contestants were granted 20 points as the game began. Like the tutorials, crossing someone else's glow trail costs points, but the player leaving the trail gets the points from the one crossing the trail. Upset that Egbert won front-of-the-line admissions, Amelia tried to trap Egbert in one area. When Egbert escaped, Amelia made a squiggly trail in Egbert's path to take his points away. Caroline stayed along the edges the whole time until more were eliminated.
First one to reach the 0 score was Rosie. After giving up all her points, Jenny turned off Rosie's bumper car from the broadcast station. Second one eliminated was Julian. Egbert's and Amelia's fighting made things hard on Julian, and after a few more touches, he was out. Amelia failed to eliminate Egbert on her own. She was the third contestant to get a 0 score, but Egbert followed.
In the final four, Caroline started to move inwards as Cherry, Roald, and Bruce were playing peacefully. Like Amelia, Caroline trapped some contestants in the arena by driving in circles. Bruce decided to help her since her trail can be so long. Both surrounded Roald and Cherry, making it where the only way out is by passing one of the two. Cherry got out, but it costed her a point. Caroline later trapped her as Bruce trapped Roald. Both Cherry and Roald surrendered all of their points to Caroline and Bruce. By the time two remain, only 10 minutes remain. After Bruce helped Caroline, he decided to turn against her. Caroline was trying to confuse Bruce by making squiggly lines in his path. And when Bruce kept bumping off from the eliminated contestants, he kept crossing Caroline's trail. When only three minutes remained, Bruce's score hit 0, making Caroline the winner.
"Alright!" said Penny as she talks on the intercom, "only one remains in the arena. Round one is now over. Congratulations to Caroline for being the last one left in the arena. Everyone else, thanks for playing! Caroline will get to choose who's not playing in the next round."
The entire stadium was emptied as the eight contestants stayed in the rink. When Caroline had to think about who she doesn't want in the next round, Cherry admitted that she didn't want to play anymore. She didn't think the ultimate contest was that fun. All she had to do is try to dodge others' trails. It was fun at first, but she didn't want to continue after one round. At the same time, everyone, including Caroline, did not want Egbert to win since he got the front- of-the-line prize. Caroline picked Cherry and Egbert to be eliminated for the next round. As part of the outcome, Egbert may have won the best prize from the pre-contest, but he was also one of the first ones eliminated. Meanwhile, Cherry got what she wanted. She can't play anymore, but at least she can get hot cocoa for free. Rosie felt lucky since she was the first one to lose the first round. Even if she did the worst, she still got a chance to continue in the Champion Tournament. And Amelia was happy that she got to contine, but not Egbert. She was even being rude about it.
