Does anybody have foods or drinks their stomach does not want?

My stomach does not like lemonade, butter, popcorn, fried foods, dairy milk, or marinara. Seems to do me worse than most tomato products.

In moderation and with eating slowly I can manage these foods. (Besides butter and dairy milk unfortunately. It gets to me quickly even in small amounts).

My stomach doesn't like pork or red meats. I get sick if I eat too much of them. I also like Indian food, but the heavy spices are sometimes too much for my stomach.

The only thing I know of that my stomach despises is milk with lactose, because I'm lactose-intolerant.

I can't eat Cheez-Its anymore. Used to inhale boxes of them when I was a kid, so it's odd that I can't. I tried a bag a year or so ago and as soon as I ate a few my stomach started hurting, lmao.

I forgot about those. I can't eat Cheez-Its either. They really bother me for some reason.

It's also one of those snacks that I like so much that i'll eat them and suffer willingly later.

For me, I know that it happens, but I don't really know what precisely causes it. It just seems to be random. >.<

I do know that there was a burger restaurant I went to (don't anymore, because they don't have the franchise where I've moved) and their fries were good but covered with grease and on a rare occasion it would get me good.

Ever since I turned around 25, spicy food will give me massive heartburn. I often still force myself to eat spicy food because 1. I like the flavor, 2. my heritage.

On that note, marinara sauce will also give me heartburn.

I avoid milk on days that I’m stressed out.

My stomach can’t digest corn from the cobb too well for some reason. Otherwise, I can eat the canned versions fine.

i don’t have any food intolerances (that i know of) but this thread reminded me of the time when i drank two glasses of iced espresso coffee almost everyday for two weeks and didn’t realize until i had a stomachache. remember everyone, always read labels so you don’t end up like me.

I have IBS, so the foods and drinks my stomach doesn't like varies from day to day. I can eat or drink something one day and be totally fine, and then eat or drink it again a different day and Suffer. I never know which'll happen until my stomach starts hurting (or doesn't).

The only thing I can think of that always upsets my stomach are baked beans. I don't really like them anyways though, so avoiding eating them is easy. My tummy also isn't always the biggest fan of caffeine, but I consume it anyways... every other food and drink is like playing roulette with my tummy every time I consume something.

I can't stomach soda, so I normally have lemonade or sparkling water instead. I also have trouble digesting caffeine.

Yooo I have IBS as well! It sucks so much. So much anxiety when eating with others or being at other people's houses. You never know when you'll have an episode. Super embarrassing :(

I ate a tuna wrap for lunch and everytime I'd head straight to the bathroom within minutes of consuming but yet today, I ate the exact same tuna sandwich and I felt nothing at all. Perfectly fine. It's literally russian roulette when eating. If anyone knows of a pill or something to help this crap (pun intended) I'd love to know. A food dairy does nothing if it's random everytime.

It's not really intended to be an every day solution, but Imodium has been a lifesaver for me. I take 2 before I go out if I know I'm going to be getting something to eat/drink (or even if I'm just at home and want to be able to eat without potentially ending up in pain after), and it prevents a flare-up from happening no matter what I eat/drink. No cramps, no discomfort, no bathroom trips, none of it. It's also been good for stopping a flare-up when one happens. It's OTC, so you don't need a prescription or anything!

I'm sorry you have to deal with IBS, too. 🫂 The anxiety of eating anywhere other than at home really is awful. And the food diary.... omg. The amount of doctors I've told that my IBS is random and what triggers it is unpredictable and changes on a regular basis and their first and main suggestion is Still a food diary is frustrating lol

Sugar, unless is in small dose, red meat, mint -that one is terrible-, caffeine, and occasionally insoluble fibers, like brown bread, cereals, beans. The healthiest food give me stomachache, go figure, but not all the time, it comes and goes. Some kind of apples.

However, I rarely have troubles with spicy or acid food.

OMG thank you so much for your reply! ;w; I'll definitely try out Imodium and see how it works on me! I wonder if there is some sort of medication to go on that works similar but is intended for everyday use. Obviously a question for my doctor lol.

But right? A food diary just doesn't seem effective for IBS. Clearly they're looking for food patterns and I wish there were some! I'd love to just avoid eating something to feel okay or preparing for the worst if I choose to eat it. Being in a constant state of paranoia sucks and it's hard to not be embarrassed about instant diarrhea, regardless what anyone says. Like I was invited over to a coworker's house for game night and instead of getting excited, I panicked when they mentioned they'd cook for us. There's gotta be a solution out there for us folk!!

It's common known one, but I've a problem with dairy. I've never been officially diagnosed as lactose intolerant, but it's the only one that causes me pain on that scale. I've found ways to manage it thankfully.

I don't think I have any foods that make my stomach unhappy, well, that is, I probably do but I ignore what my stomach thinks. This is mostly usually food that has gotten a little bad because I hate to waste food. I am really glad that lactose is still okay, because I know a lot of Asians have lactose intolerance, and I love milk and ice cream and cheese and all other sorts of dairy. My boyfriend has ulcerative colitis, so he's always very careful about what he eats. But he also hates to waste food and is also a food vacuum cleaner. He says for him, it's not so much that certain foods upset him, but it's more that lack of certain foods might upset him, or sometimes stress and other factors.

... I'll say gut.
I have to be careful with what I eat. Some digestive reasons but some fibromyalgia reasons. I could make a long list of nopes, but I focus on what I can eat, and should eat based on nutritional needs, instead. Like picking fish over turkey. And what I can sometimes eat in small amounts to the thanks of doing what I am suppose to (like sauces, or seeds/nuts).
But for the sake of the thread, I'll name a few digestive problematic foods.
Beef (must be very small amounts) I simply don't digest it well.
Ranch but not dairy. I noticed this when trying a new recipe that called for a glob of ranch in it. Normally when I eat ranch it is a very small amount mixed in a sauce. I'm fine with cheese and smoothies (milk).
Box Cereal
Spicy food
Canned food. if it isn't microwaved for at least 2.5 mins I get ill.
Corn but not cornmeal

Anyway, if anyone has a few foods that really bothers them, it may be a good idea to talk to your doctor and see if they can help you at all. You may have a condition or allergy.
If you deal with heartburn, sometimes changing the time you eat can assist. (Luckily I don't deal with heartburn burn as an adult)

my stomach doesn't like anything i eat/drink before 9am LOL
