Storage…thoughts and discussion

So, since last year during the Thanksgiving event and the stupid gazimi crab ordeal I had I am becoming a storage pack rat.
I am starting to keep bugs and fish for Flick to make me collectibles. High dollar animals and insects.
Plus just random stuff extra gyroids, seasonal items etc.

Does anyone have specific items they store, collectibles or what you consider useful items?

I’m very minimalistic in real life so seeing random things in storage lowkey bothers the heck out of me. I literally just store materials and a few items that I plan on using in the near future. If not, I just sell them. I try not to keep my storage cluttered with things I don’t plan on using.

I have kept 3very gyroid I have gotten, thinking of transferring them to my ‘second’ storage. It’s hard to say if I hoard things I wouldn’t use, as I like to re decorate no and then, especially per season.

I try to keep at least one of every clothing item that strikes my fancy. It's probably what takes up the most amount of space, and the part that I most often have to clean out to get rid of duplicates or things that I don't plan on using for awhile.

I have a lot of stuff in my storage. Lots of furniture especially items where you can apply custom designs, clothes, materials and anything else.
I do have an ungodly amount of cicada species stored in my storage. I wanted to make models and use them as ambient noises around my island.

My storage like an idea box. It's just more handy to yank an item out than order it and TT to get it.

So far for now besides materials I've been keeping lot of furniture but only expensive furniture that I'm going to use after I'm done with my land. I haven't done anything with my houses so I gotta keep some furniture so I don't have to spend more bells in future. Especially when limit is 5 items a day which is ridiculous.

I keep a bunch of dumb junk in my storage. It's largely materials, clothing, and items that can't be reordered from the catalog. But sometimes I get a bunch of mail with things in them from my villagers as a result of time traveling and I toss them in storage. Other times I bring my mail box to the drop box and toss all the presents in there. My villagers must think I'm such a bad friend. lol

My wardrobe is half my storage!!! I love it and always swap outfits everyday

That’s neat you do it per season which I hadn’t really thought about. I’m also a fan of gyroids!! I have several rows and they are all over my village

Mostly unorderables for furniture. Now that we can get color variations on Harv's Island, there's no need to keep multiple colors of couches or beds. I keep a couple stacks of materials, though I rarely dip into them. If I do, I will top them off again.

I have seasonal items, because I swap out my decoration areas each season. Some things get recolored, but others are easier to throw in storage.

The bulk of my closets are filled with clothes. I don't have everything in the catalog, but I do have quite a few items. Of the 3,000 or so items, I'd say close to half are clothes.

I have so many things in storage. I really should clean it out at some point. I think it’s mostly clothes but still a good amount of other things. I don’t like getting rid of things since I was saybi might use that for something and be mad if I have to reorder something.

I mostly store materials, and rare unbuyable items. Very rarely do I store things that can be rebought from the catalog, unless its an outfit I really like. I also store tools, instead of carrying them around in my pockets, and just carry a storage box where ever I go.

I am terrible at storing items. I try to keep 'not for sale' items. Also, like to keep a few stacks of each wood, iron nuggets, giant clams, etc as if I've got someone in the campsite and want a 'shell' item crafted usually I can never find enough giant clams/sand dollars. I recently got a 2nd island and thought I will try and keep that more for storage but I started to make houses and now I've got items scattered all over the place. However, one handy thing I only discovered recently (I was probably the only person who didn't know that!) that you can rebuy certain items which is handy as I know I can sell them and have the option to rebuy at a later date. Only got 2 more house upgrades on my first island, not looking forward when I get to the point there is no more storage expansion.

Yeah, it’s not just my home. I have made an extension of the town square and also decorate that per season, and for holidays too. Same thing with decorations outside my house.

I have far too much stuff in storage, even in my alt storage boxes. When I finally complete my island, I'm going to dump most of it around the island and just let players take whatever they want.

I'm starting to become a bit of a hoarder to be honest, I almost have 4,000 items now in my storage haha.

I just have a lot of storage sheds around my island, and I'm lazy so whatever junk I get I just throw it in there. I have a lot of duplicate items I need to clean out one day, but at least I have 5,000 storage now so don't have to worry about it too much lol.

I also have a ton of fountain fireworks as well which don't stack for some dumb reason in my storage, because I think they're really cool.

I have materials of all types, 3 of each creature, and any kind of item that can't be easily obtained and or bought from the catalogue. I might never use it, but there may be a time I decide to and I'd rather not have to hunt down what I once already got or find someone to trade for it.

NH has the best organized storage out of all the games. You have 3 options how to sort them, a variety of categories for the types, and it actually shows what it looks like in storage. NL just had basic clip art like the furniture leaf ect. So even though I have a lot in storage it's so much easier to find what I am looking for. Instead of just hovering over the basic clip art, reading the text of what it is, and then going to the next piece.

Furniture. Especially furniture that needs to be crafted. I don’t particularly like crafting, so if I think I might use it in the future, It gets stored. I have very limited space though since I have never upgraded my attic. I don’t see myself upgrading for storage so every so often I do have to sell some in the bin.

i upgraded my storage to max and so now i store everything lol. it’s especially handy for furniture because i love to redecorate frequently. i have a lot of duplicate furniture and materials but i tend to not keep dupes of clothing items.

I kept my storage very organized. I had the materials in one section and the items in the other. I even had them separated by color and everything.
