Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life announced for Nintendo Switch

I was scrolling through Tumblr and saw the video thumbnail and went "huh, looks like Pony in the newer games' art style" and then went "wait a minute"

It's planned for release Summer 2023! I'm so excited to finally be able to romance the girls of Forget-Me-Not (Forgotten, now) Valley as a woman
(Also yes this is me assuming the addition of ss marriage but given the recent games I think it's very possible!)

Agreed, playing as a guy to romance the women or as a girl and just choosing a guy isn't really working for me anymore. I am optimistic, though! Both Mineral Town and PoOT have children, and the fireworks scene in the trailer makes me think they're adding some stuff in from the DS games, so I do think there's a good chance same-sex marriage will be added as well. I'll have to keep an eye out for XSeed's localization logs, usually that's the type of thing they include when doing those.

Oh yes this is right up my alley.. I played this game on the gamecube back in the day. I'll pretty much play any Story of Seasons (or old harvest moon) game.

I'm so excited for this! I loved this game when I played it on the Gamecube! The other games never lived up to this in my opinion. I always wanted a remake of this, but I didn't think it was possible. I will definitely keep an eye out for it.

We love to see it!! I think I'll probably wind up preordering this, then. I love MFoMT but DS was my first HM game and it's so nostalgic for me, so adding same-sex marriage really makes this a great remake for me.

i’m actually so excited for this! the last story of seasons/harvest moon game i played was the lost valley (and i lowkey wasn’t a fan lol), but this looks fantastic! i can’t compare it to the original as i never played it, but i think it’s really cool that the characters will age over time, and the inclusion of same-sex marriage has made my heart so happy. i’m pansexual, so being able to romance a female character if i so choose has made me even more excited! i’m also so happy for the non-binary homies and that they won’t have to identify as male or female in-game if they don’t want to. this remaster seems so inclusive already, i love it.

This is so cute I have always wanted to play this franchise but for some reason I never got around to actually playing any of the games

Oh nice! Forget me not valley was the first game of Harvest Moon I played. I played Harvest moon DS as a boy, and then Harvest Moon DS cute as a girl
I prefer playing as a girl, but most games back then had boy characters only ( Pokémon yellow as well).
I have very fond memories. I had a fun time playing both.

I haven’t played played Harvest moon for the last two years, but I’m thinking of buying this one.



Edit: I just saw the trailer and I don’t think I like the whole getting old part.

I couldn't really get into it during its Gamecube phase, but it looks like they polished it up nicely. It was a bit rough with the realistic graphics back then. Looks a lot better. So it will be fun to replay as I never got far and see the years pass. I only did like year 1.

But at the end of year 1 the old man from the old couple dies and leaves the wife a widow. It was really weird cause there wasn't any scene to acknowledge it. I just talked to the wife one time and it came up in conversation.

Yeah in the ds game only your child aged, and the children of the town. I remember one of the older couples in the town died as well. One I think. However the character I played as didn’t really age. I don’t think I want my character to have grey hair or face wrinkles, which is saw in the trailer

I loved this game on the Gamecube. I couldn’t care less about the same-sex couples, though, just because I’m not into the relationship trope of video games. Whatever they do with it, it doesn’t make a difference to me. I don’t know if I’d be too into the dating features, but I do love that you still get a dog. I always had a hard time choosing between pointed ears and floppy ears. I think I’m going with floppy this time, but I wish you could take both pups.

I picked up the original GameCube version recently and it's a great game. With the updated graphics I imagine this will be the definitive version. My only hope is that they include the extra content that was in the PS2 port.

I want to say that this is probably pretty likely as from the new trailer it’s obvious that Lumina is a potential wife and she was exclusive to the PS2 port. She was in the GameCube version but was not romance-able. No guarantees that all the extra content will be included but I think this is a good sign.

AWL has always been my favourite HM game so i'm really excited, i just hope they won't suck the soul and charm from it, i hope it's still really slow paced and peaceful. also i'm glad they switched up the bachelors because oh my they were....... something

I like that they've been remaking old Harvest Moon games into Story of Seasons games lately. My greatest wish is that they'll remake Harvest Moon 64 in the same way; that one was always my favorite.
