Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life announced for Nintendo Switch

I am beyond happy for this game. Some of my best memories were playing the female version back in the day. No other farming game has ever gotten close to how this game made me feel, although Stardew was close. It’s got everything I’ve been missing from my harvest moon/story of seasons games!

I'm gonna wait to see reviews but I'm definitely eyeing this game. I haven't played the original so I hope this game will be a nice remake!

From the trailer, it looks to be a carbon copy, or at least very similar. However, I’m sure the game has a few changes and improvements. I’m hoping for more customization options. It’s slipping my mind whether or not you could decorate your home in the original, so I’m hoping we have more flexibility there. I’m hyped the option of having a pet dog is returning, though.

I am soooo hyped for this game. Played it back on the gamecube and loved it. My kid always left me alone to be an artist ;_;. I showed him all the time animals so he would become a farmer like me but my parenting was bad I guess lol.

I hope they add some.cute bachelors or I have to marry Merlin. The current ones are not my piece of cake and I secretly hope for Sky to show up.

I am also down to.marry my waifu Nami.

I'm excited for this one! I actually bought a secondhand Gamecube back in 2004 specifically so that I could play HM:AWL. The way time progresses made it so distinct from any other title in the franchise and it remains one of my favourites for that reason.

I might hold out to see if it comes to PS5 rather than buying at launch. SoS:FoMT did so I expect this will too.

It seems this game is set out to release on Summer 2023. Still haven't decided if I want to get this game yet. Already have 3 Nintendo Switch games to play and I'm also getting Fire Emblem Engage in January 2023. Got plenty of time to make a decision for this game.

Found out that Matthew was originally Marlin. :0 Can't believe the glow up he got. Didn't like his design in the original games (Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life & Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life). So... I'm glad for the change they made on him. I married Gustafa in my OG playthrough of Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life because he seemed the most decent guy. So... I'm a little more interested in getting this game now. Can't wait to see more about this game.

I ended up getting Animal Parade used since so many people like it! I'm not very far into it yet, just playing a couple of times a week. But seeing the announcement for this remake made me want to play an HM/SoS game again haha.

I played the PS2 (clunky) version as a kid and loved running around but I mostly slept through days to watch the kid grow up.

I love story of seasons and am so happy for this. I never got to play a wonderful life when it was on ps2 so I'm excited to experience it for the first time.

I'm super excited for this! I really enjoyed the FOMT remake and that I could finally have Pete marry Gray without hacks lol
this was one of my favorite titles when I was younger, so I can't wait to play it =w=

I am very excited for this! I Played the origonal GC version (on Wii) and have been hoping that, one day, the Nintendo gods would hear my prayers and bring it to the Switch and they finally are! Yes it's remade in Story of SEasons style but i honestly don't really care lol I'm just happy i'll be able o play it again.

For anyone waiting impatiently like me, Marvelous released a new ~90 minute gameplay video a few days ago. It’s entirely in Japanese, so the dialog and commentary is lost on me, but I’m loving the art style and the character updates! Forgotten Valley looks beautiful.

Thanks for posting! I saw the original in a gaming shop for $30 and almost grabbed it but I'm glad I didn't and am waiting for this to come out. It looks really nice!

I know this post is really old, but the original was very clunky.

It was the first time they went from the cutesy look that Harvest Moon (now Story of Seasons) was known for and just jumping right into realism. This new version looks like they found the right amount of realism while keeping true to their cutesy look (for lack of a back word) but the original just felt off with their artistic approach. The graphic limitations at the time probably played into that.

Maybe I could had given the game more time and a chance, but I just didn't like how drastic the changes were. The remake looks like the right level.

I would definitely hold off on buying the originals until the remake arrives.
