I think I've decided to go for the traditional balloons. I know the bunny and heart ones will be worth more but the traditional ones are more to my aesthetic.

the conversation silver for basement posts are definitely between 13-14 hours, 3 post each time. It seems the regular thread posts are more than that, I’m at the 18 hour mark and still not getting any silver from regular threads.

plus still not making any bells from any of my posts since I got the 11 bells from my very first post since the event went live

I’m team heart balloon. The bunny balloon is also super cute, but I keep being drawn to the hearts. I think the deep red heart will make a cool line up next Valentine’s day. Or even the red and green for Christmas, maybe the purple for Halloween. But also, sweet heart balloon? Need that in my inventory. Idk, my (up to) 600 street silver might just be on heart balloons

i could be wrong but i don't think there's any distinction between basement posts and any other forums post this time. from what we've gathered so far, this is everything that grants streetpass silver and how many times they can be redeemed:

• commenting on a thread - 3 times
• viewing a thread - once
• making a thread - once
• reacting to posts - 3 times
• voting in a poll - once
• posting on someone's profile - 3 times
• viewing someone's profile - once

they all seem to refresh every 12 hours

EDIT: event submissions may also count towards one?

it seems like you can get around 50-60 at a time so you may have missed something! check your transactions in the shop

i definitely screwed myself over a bit not maxing out all my redemption until too late in the day to get the full 12 hour cooldown but.. at least we know! the amount of time i spend on here in the next few weeks is about to go wayy up

The way I haven’t made more than 1-2 posts a week for months outside of event threads…this is going to be rough. I really want a bunch of Bunny and Heart Balloons but I’m struggling to even get enough Streetpass Silver for one. The random colors are making me nervous as well, because I really want the Sweet variants. Crossing my fingers with one hand and getting ready to post like crazy with the other, I guess!

I was stuck at 60 since last night and have been busy most of today, so I'm not really sure on the cooldowns, but it seems like I'm gaining streetpass silver again so back to posting. My wall is also open for anyone who's looking to farm for streetpass silver themselves. :>

I don’t think it’s a 12 hour cooldown. I was up at 3am this morning and posted, which was 3 hours after another post, which was at 12am and didn’t get anything. Before 12am I believe I was getting silver at around 8 or 9pm, which was when the event started for me in my time. However, when I went back to bed at 3am and didn’t wake up till 11am, it was 8 hours since the 3am post and I was earning silver again.

TL;DR, I believe you have to wait at least 6 or 8 hours before doing anymore activity of any kind. If you post or do anything else before that timeframe, the 6 hour wait resets again. I think they are punishing us for being too impatient. X.X

ohh I hope that's not the case, I check TBT more frequently than that outside of dust events ;; Especially now with trying to set up online trades and everything too

It’s either that or maybe you have to do everything every 6 hours? Like do activities after 12am and then 6am, etc etc? It almost seems like that too when I think about it. Maybe that’s what they mean about spacing throughout the event?
