Pokémon Sun&Moon: What'd You Name Your Starter?

I named my starters, I got both games, Litten and Popplio. I didn't give them a nickname, I always make my pokemon what they're actually called. Except on pixelmon where I named my Jolteon OPJolteon because he was op, and I also used a shiny convert on him because he was so cool.

I was going to name my Rowlet Virion, but this was the one time I got a female starter. Though I did find the breeding center and just got a male Rowlet. I also traded for a Litten and named it Kuro. I don't name most of my Pok?mon; only if I think of something fitting.

Tbh I am not a fan of nicknaming my story mode team but I when decided on Litten I was actually thinking of nicknaming it "Dean" or "Seth" after my two favorite wrestlers of course. I think I may actually do that now that I know where the name rater is but ehhh I don't know for sure. Plus I have no clue what to name my other teamates.

I don't ever change their names in the game, but I come up with a name for some of them anyway. I think it looks odd and unfair that some get special names while others are their respective generic species names.

My Rowlet, I think of as Raul though. :'3

I got Rowlet as my starter which I nicknamed Kui. While it may seem odd at first, the I in his name is silent, so it's actually Ku (get it? Because owls go "koo"?).

when i picked my starter(Litten) i was really hoping it was a male so i could give it the nickname ''Drax Shadow'' because there's this 9yr old boy named Elijah Mainville he has high risk stage 4 Neuroblastoma and that's the wrestling name he picked and Incineroar i mean the nickname fits so well it's a Heel pokemon c'mon so this nickname has special meaning and i also caught a male Growlithe and nicknamed it after Elijah's big brother Cayden. I also was able to get off of GTS Rowlet and Popplio caught a Ditto got some eggs and nicknamed my Rowlet(male:Archer and also male Popplio:Aquarius.)

I usually only nickname my starters, and then leave the rest of my pokemon their original names. Unless I accidentally hit "yes" when it asks if I want to give it a nickname, which... has happened. Then there's no going back. I have a female Alolan Sandslash named Yuki.

I haven't gotten Moon version yet (cross my fingers I get it for christmas...), but I will start with a Popplio and name it Beauty. Idc if it's a boy or a girl, but I would love it to be a boy because of irony.

I'm not sure what to name the other two starters yet. All I know is that Incineroar reminds me of a mix of Tony the tiger and John Cena (imagine listening to this when Incineroar walks in the room), and Decidueye reminds me of like Robin Hood or something.

I usually name my starters things like flame, blaze, bubbles, aqua, vapor, ivy, flower, etc. but not this time.

I think if you accidentally enter the nickname screen, you can just click "OK" without typing in anything and it'll fill out the default name for you ^^

(And the name I gave my Rowlet was Robin ( ◞･▽･) )

I named my Rowlet Carreau since I wanted to have a name that had at least some tangential relation to archers. Carreau is another word for bolt, which is the name for the projectiles used in crossbows and catapults. It's not exactly a perfect name for Rowlet/Decidueye since it's based more on a proper archer who uses a traditional bow and arrow, but hey, I did say I was just going for something at least tangentially related.

I personally never really name my pokemon but my boyfriend named his Rowlet "Larry" even though it is female.
