I applied some sunscreen last weekend, but we were out in the sun for such a long time stuck in a line and I forgot to reapply that I got awfully burnt. Peeling like mad currently.
Worst part is I had given blood that morning so now I have a weird tan line on my arm from the bandage from that
I was sunburned last year on my trip to Disney World. It wasn't too bad since I used sunscreen, but I forgot to apply some in certain places of my body. The back of my neck and shoulders were so burned, even though I wore short sleeves and not sleeveless tops.
I work outdoors mostly, but I try to cover up. I gradually tan to the point that if I take my shirt off, I still look like I am wearing a white t-shirt But I make sure not to stay outside long enough to get burned (I was burned so bad as a kid multiple times that I don't want to relive all of the pain and peeling skin!)
My doctors have been giving me a hard time about not using sunscreen, so this is the first summer I have been truly protecting my skin.
The last sunburn that I can remember getting was about 8 years ago when I was doing some sidewalk chalk art at a sidewalk chalk art festival.. I did not wear sunscreen back then, and I was partially in the sun for about 6 hours. It was kind of a funny sunburn because it was really only on one side of my body but it luckily wasn't too bad
I haven't bad a sunburn in at least a few years. two reasons: 1. I usually try to wear sunscreen because my hands are sensitive to strong sunlight and it makes my psoriasis flare up, and 2. I'm a modest person and I wear long sleeves and pants even when it's hot out, so the sun can't reach my skin hehehe.
Any time I forget to put sunscreen on a given area I get burned! So it happens many times every summer lol Just last weekend I got burned on my ears which is literally the only area I didn't lotion. Thankfully I haven't had a bad burn in about 6 years.
