Fun background setting: You made a friend who not only wants a Switch, but a nice library to slap on it. They haven't played a Nintendo game since around 2000-2005.

Hmm…let’s see….🥸
1.) Just to name a few..Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Mario Party Jamboree, Smash Ultimate, Mario Wonder
2.) Mario Odyssey (life changing), Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Smash Ultimate
3.) Bayonetta 3 & Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon (Nintendo exclusive but not developed by) I played Bayonetta backwards and had more fun with 3.
4.) Switch OLED
5.) Coffee Talk; it’s a visual novel.

1 What first party games do you feel they Have to Have on their Switch?

Mario Kart and Odyssey. Mario Kart is a staple of the franchise.

2 What first party games you feel most people should at least experience playing once on the Switch?

Mario Kart. If they haven't played Mario Kart before they should at least play it. I would recommend the same thing for Switch 2 MK.

3. What non first party games do you recommend that is available in the Eshop?

Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. If they are a fan of the Zelda franchise it is recommend to get both. The open world element of these games is life-changing. If they are new I still recommend them.

4. What Nintendo Online Service games do you highly encourage them to play?

I barely use NSO right now. I am sure others can answer this instead of me.

5. What Switch console do you recommend?
(Switch 1, SwitchLite, Switch OLED)?

Definitely Switch 1. OLED isn't really that necessary and although Lite is a little cheaper it doesn't have as much as S1.

6. What games are in your Switch library you aren't recommending to them, and why?

If they are a fan of Pokémon, I wouldn't recommend any of them unless its Legends Arceus.

Are these hypothetical questions? :)

1st party games: If I had to limit it to top 3 suggestions: Animal Crossing New Horizons, Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild

Nintendo Online service games (assuming this means classic games) recommendations: Super Metroid (SNES), Kirby Crystal Shards (N64), Mario Kart 64, Donkey Kong Country 1-3 (SNES), Mario All Stars (SNES), Blast Corps (N64), Pokemon Snap (N64). So many more good games too

No big difference to me, research pros/cons and make your decision for which version of the console

Only 1 game I've bought that I would 100% warn someone to stay away from:
Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania... saying it's terrible would be nice. They completely ruined this due to poor porting of the originals, controls and physics are totally off ruining the game. Complete waste of money and time

The other games that were not great were Dragon Ball Z Kakarot - very buggy, gameplay is kind of boring, and they killed support very early for the interesting card battle mode. And EA Sports games, I don't even know why I bought 1, maybe the hope for nostalgia? They are terrible for Switch. Just a lazy, microtransaction moneygrab, avoid Madden and FIFA at all costs for Switch.
