So my Switch says a game I've put 60+ hours in shows up as "first played X hours ago'. I already updated my system as said in Nintendo's User Support online, but it didn't need an update, and nothing changed. It has only done this with Stardew Valley, all my other titles, ACNH at 565, LoZ:BotW at 50, Go Vacation at 5 are still displayed correctly. I've been playing the game a couple of days now, enough that on my user profile it said that I played for 60 hours. Did the recent update change the way hours are displayed?

I haven't checked but if it took away all of my progress for animal Crossing New horizons, I wouldn't be mad.
that is to say I don't want that 600 hours of animal Crossing staring me right in the face as I look on it sheer horror how much time I've dropped into this.

It's not an error. It shows as 'started playing X hours/days ago' for the first ten days. After ten days has past from the first time you loaded up the game on your profile it will change to reporting time played in hours.

I thought that too but there was a time for like 3 or 4 days that it did show my play hours when I first played it. Then it started doing the 'first played X hours ago'. Like rn it says I first played yesterday, which is wrong, I've played the game for about 6 or 7 days now.

Hopefully once the 10 days past it will show my actual amount of hours. The game itself counts the hours I've played on each file so atleast that isn't lost.

I found out recently after transferring my Splatoon 2 save data via console to console it erases your play time entirely. I doubt that's what's going on here, but thought I'd toss that out there anyways. Another downside to games not supporting cloud save.
