Tarantula Help, Please?

I think they're called 'peak' because not as many other bugs appear/spawn, which is great, but I always see mine between 7pm-12am.

I think so too, because I walked around for 2 hours at around 2AM and never saw one, yet ran into 4, one after the other in random spots at just after 7PM.

I so grateful for all the help and suggestions! I'm not going to focus on those "peak hours" anymore since it seems they're not as peak as I thought. I'm still trying every night that it's not raining so I hope I get one soon.

I did. I wasn't really looking for them anyway.

I was wandering when all of a sudden, a saw this purple-black thing. I went up with my net and caught it like that lol. I'm still trying to get my scorpion ;)

I caught a scorpion tonight! Woo hoo! Now if I can just get the tarantula...

I caught a tarantula, ran into two more, and got bitten by a scorpion.

I'm not going to bother anymore.
4 hours of walking around.

I'm sorry the scorpion got you. :( I haven't seen a tarantula since the scorpions showed up. I've seen the scorpions but wasn't able to get me net hout fast enough. Tonight I just got lucky.

4 hours is a long time. I'm in Hour 3 and I'm thinking of calling it quits for tonight.

Nintendo put that thing in the game where villagers stop talking to you after about 40 minutes of gameplay, and tell you that you look tired.

Yet.. they make it so as you have to walk around for literally hours, looking for a bug that may or may not appear. :-/

I havent found a Tarantula yet but maybe a funny Thing to tell:

last night we were watching TV and I just came back from the Island. Since it was already late I knew it was time for scorpions and tarantulas so I stuffed my pockets with beetles I caught on the island but left space for a potential rare bug. There was something with scorpions on TV and I said "i want a scorpion as well q.q"

I walked up the ramp from the beach and Tadaaa: A scorpion made ist way towards me. One swipe with the net and it was mine!

It was the second sorpion I have seen in that town, the first one stung me q.q

This is my tried and true method. Equip your net and then put it away so it is the first thing that comes up when you hit the button to equip an item. Do not have your net equipped beforehand or you will be attacked/stung/bitten. Walk through town, DO NOT RUN. Go to areas that are underdeveloped, no buildings and just casually stroll. I find most of my baddies around 11 pm. When you come across one, STOP, hold perfectly still and equip your net. Then you walk very slowly toward them. This will engage their attack pattern, they will face you and watch you approach. Do not speed up or they will attack. If you stay slow, they will simply hold fast and watch you. As soon as you are close enough, SNAP, and you should have a biggie in your net :)
