What are some foods/snacks that you use to love but not love as much now or even not like at all?

Did your taste change or was the item changed in manufacturing?
Did you find something tastier that put the old to shame?
Was a recipe lost and you are still struggling to find it or find one that competes?
Are you located in a different country or area vs before and the food is now different?

Is there a new food or snack that "replaces" what you loved?

As a kid I used to love fish sticks. After an oil spill incident, I noticed the fish sticks my parents were buying didn't taste the same. Sometimes they didn't even taste that good to me. After a while I just stopped getting fish sticks because I had trouble finding ones I like. A huge problem is I have no idea what kind of fish were in the ones I liked. I also barely even like seafood in the first place and this isn't helping.

Weirdly, I liked the cheese sticks at my highschool and the ones at restaurants. The ones sold in stores are pretty gross though.

I also use to like fake butter. "I can't believe it's not butter" brand specifically. I would spray it on anything. I can't stand it now.

I used to like sandwiches with cheese or turkey, but after having it as a school lunch almost every day for so many years I've become sick of them. Now they're extremely boring to me and I refuse to eat a sandwich unless it's toasted or is grilled.

I don't like most salads anymore either. Eating bad salads at home and at restaurants ruined them for me and like regular sandwiches find them boring.

Lidl used to have a knockoff Ben&Jerry cookie dough that I adored, but then they changed the formula and ever since it just tastes cheap for a lack of a better term. I really loved those cheap cookie dough pieces because they were bigger and solid, but now the cheap vanilla ice cream ruins it for me. It tastes like it was made from watered down milk.

i swear, sometime around 2012 or 2013, pringles changed their formula. they had to have. i used to adore pringles, i'd eat the little mini packs with 10 or so in them for lunch every day. BUT! then they became thinner, softer. and now i cant stand them. i prefer lay's version of pringles (stax) way more which is a shame bc i miss pringles sometimes

i used to like peanut butter a lot as a kid. eventually my parents had to stop buying it because my siblings were diagnosed with a peanut allergy.
the last time i ate it though, i almost couldn't stand it. very icky (n)

Dunno if this is so much as taste change but eating a sweet treat is good at first but eating it over and over gets less and less tasty fast for me. As for fruit candy, I used you to enjoy skittles and starbursts and such when I was a child but now I have like no interest in it.

Overall though... I don't think I ended up hating food due to taste changes. As a matter of fact I've grown to like a variety of them now and became a less picky eater. I will say though, I hate when restaurants change their recipes on good food. Also once you and your family find a better pizza place than the one you usually went to... there's no going back.

I ate a lot of canned Spaghettios as a child. Neither of my parents was super big on cooking and I was a very hungry independent child who often ate entire meals as snacks. One day, around 12 or 13, I heated up a bowl, took a single bite, and my brain went "Oh no . . . this is not good." That was my final can of spaghettios.

I also ate margarine as a kid because my mom is lactose intolerant (and because everybody did in the late 90s and early 2000s). Then I started eating real butter at friends' houses and came home like "UH, CAN I HAVE SOME REAL BUTTER PLEASE?" After that I got my own butter and ate that while my mom continued with the margarine.

I used to love eating salami when I was like 6, but I think it’s digusting today. I guess I just got tired of it.

The closest thing I like now would be pepperoni. Now that is yummy.

Used to kinda like smoked ham when I was a kid. My dad kept buying nasty chopped ham though or honey ham so now looking at ham makes me remember that.

Thought pork chops were okay as a kid. But I swear, no lie, my dad made fried pork chops for dinner EVERY NIGHT for a year straight. Now the smell of pork chops makes me nauseous.

Used to like bologna but now I can't even think about it. Same with kraft singles.

I was the same way with bolgona, but that stuff is so greasy and nasty now. I like ham now and I used to dislike that when I was a kid.
