I written reviews for the past three TBT Fairs, why not a review on an Egg Hunt?
Throughout the past six egg hunts, the fifth one is my favorite, but the sixth one is where I was at my best. Not only I found more eggs in 2018 than in 2017, but in proportion, I did much better. If there were 30 eggs, I would've only found 16 from 2017, but 20 from 2018.

In past hunts:
- 2017 - I liked the clues better, but I didn't do as good.
- 2016 - I was a member already, but this was around the time I already decided I was done with TBT since my favorite mods stepped down.
- 2015 - my first Egg Hunt. I did very poorly back then, but that's because I didn't spend too much time on TBT since I was a newer member back then. Not to mention, but I didn't have too much experience on Nintendo until the summer that year.
- 2014 - I wasn't a member back then. So I didn't know.
- 2013 - New Leaf wasn't even out yet, at least in most of the world. Although it's been out in Japan for a while and Korea for at least a month at the time, most of the Animal Crossing players that use TBT and/or knew me are from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, or Australia. Back then, City Folk (Animal Crossing at its worst before Amiibo Festival) was the most recent AC game.
- Clue #1 - Bring a sleeping bag and enough s'mores for all! You're not the only one camping the forum this weekend. The egg is hidden in the Friend ID Sharing Thread. I knew the clue had something to do with Pocket Camp. Every Egg Hunt, even though the staff said the eggs can be found anywhere, most of them are related to the events between the last egg hunt to the current egg hunt, and video games are the top priority. I have not downloaded Pocket Camp, nor do I have any interest into it, but I used the clues from previous Egg Hunts to understand the pattern.
- Clue #2 - The veteran fighters are not too happy about this mess. I first thought this had to be related to either the dramas on TBT (like in the direct from last June) or the threads criticizing Pokemon Sun and Moon's features (like the handholding or the removal of gyms and badges). However, I did check up on the Smash Board since I have to look everywhere, and I found this egg. To me, the Smash=Fighters makes perfect sense, since Smash is a fighting game.
- Clue #3 - Some music box soundtrack. This was the first egg I found this year. After listening closely, I knew this was something from Super Mario Odyssey. If you never played the game, you would have no idea what this music means.
- Clue #4 - 3x the pointless and forever out of stock. One of the 7 eggs I did not find, I thought it had to be something relevant to the amiibo card shortage, or something on TBT that's been out of stock for a while (such as Pokeballs, Weird Dolls, and the avatar height extension), but I didn't know it was related to the PM add-on feature.
- Clue #5 - It ain't easy being green. It took me a short period of time, but I found it in the Jambette vs Chief thread. Before the hunt, I assumed that they would have a clue related to the Villager Week battles, and the most interesting one was Jambette vs Chief. I remembered when Jambette was one of the most hated villagers while Chief was on the other end of the spectrum. I felt it was odd that people prefer Jambette now.
- Clue #6 - What's the story behind that foolish thief? I thought it had to do with Redd or something from other video games, but this appears to be on Tom's profile. This was another egg I didn't find.
- Clue #7 - I'm lurking in the depths and it's about time you find me. Yet another egg I didn't find. I thought it was related to the Woods Expedition, or something related to the deep sea catches, but I didn't realize it was a site feature. Just like Clue #7 from 2017, which many people got, but not me.
- Clue #8 - ♫How♫ will you find this egg? ♫Far♫ and wide you will search! ♫Ill♫ give you this hint! ♫Go♫ forward now and find it! (♫You're welcome♫ for the hint!) I knew this one had to be related to Moana, as I deciphered the message. But this egg was the worst of this year, just like Clue #3 from 2017 and Clue #10 from 2015. Normally, the staff hide eggs within threads last updated and/or created between the current and previous Egg Hunts, but this one was further back. Adding insult to injury, this was in a forum with too many discussions, which requires reading through several pages on the forum. Normally, I cannot see threads that were updated over two weeks ago due to my profile preferences, but when the Egg Hunt occurs, I adjust the settings to go back one year. Even still, I couldn't find the egg.
- Clue #9 - Six new friends from far far away. What kind of memento will they bring? After finding 9 eggs, I decided that I was done, but I gave it another try. Once again, I thought this was related to another game, but it had something to do with Sanrio, which makes perfect sense after finding the egg in the Re-Tail Board.
- Clue #10 - After three years, no one was excited, and our disappointment went under in general. I knew this had to be related to amiibo Festival, which was not only the worst Animal Crossing game ever, but one of Nintendo's worst games, just like how Jar Jar Binks is the film industry's most hated character. But what I didn't know was that it was hidden in the board description of the amiibo Festival board at the General AC forum, and as a link text. Fortunately, I found this egg.
- Clue #11 - A compilation of ACNL's hourly music. Most users didn't understand it, but I did. I converted the music to the hours associated to each piece, the hours to the numbers, and the numbers to the letters. Genuis!
- Clue #12 - A cardboard labo of love. Until I looked up on Google on what a labo is, I didn't understand this. After that, Insearched for the thread and found it.
- Clue #13 - The devils wear purple. This was one of the many eggs I found by just skimming without knowing the answer to the clue. I first thought this was related to ACNL's Halloween event since all villagers in costumes are wearing purple, but when it was related to Wario and Waluigi, I got it.
- Clue #14 - Swordfish. Open Sesame. Yet, another egg I didn't find at all. I thought it was about something in some sort of Mafia game or video game, until I learned it was about a new profile feature.
- Clue #15 - Here a clever beast will teach you how to constructively criticize knitting. At first, I thought it had something to do with the Able Sisters board (which is related to knitting), but after seeing it in an ancient thread in the Museum, I got the joke.
- Clue #16 - 13 voices in this locked pod. I knew this had something to do with petitions, and I found one in a petition thread with 13 signatures. Somehow, podcasts aren't popular enough here, or the staff may have been too busy.
- Clue #17 - Late November, our pockets were full of these three digits. My experience for this clue was the opposite of Clue #8. I got the egg, but I didn't know how "802" was related to the puzzle. I also knew this had something to do with Pocket Camp, or at least the Bells we earned from the "5 Years of New Leaf" mini-event. But it was an error code. An interesting coincidence was that Marshadow is Pokemon #802, and Marshadow was released last fall, but only a month earlier.
- Clue #18 - Go to where the pigeons roost and read to chapter twelve. The first glance, it had something to do with Brewster's (or the off-topic forum). I eventually found the thread on reading. Since my preferences are set to 20 posts per page, I had to look on page #6 to find the egg.
- Clue #19 - I'm finally back after a 14 year break! Shall I inform Mr. Spacely? Since this had something to do with a villager, I have gone insane. First, I am a Millennial, which is the generation or two after the generation of The Jetsons. I would have no idea about things from the 70's or 80's, but I am starting to understand more of it. Second, I thought this clue had to be about a member gone for 14 years. TBT isn't even that old, not yet at least.
- Clue #20 - Make yourself comfortable, as you will be glued for quite a while. I thought this had something to do with the E3 or Nintendo Direct (or the TBT Fair announcement), but when I saw that it was related to the video game sitting, I kinda get it now. This is the last egg I did not find.
- Clue #21 - I hope your triskaidekaphobia isn't bothering you. I figured that it had something to do with the "What's Bothering You" thread and the number 13. Again, my preferences reads 20 posts per page, so I checked Page 7 since it's pages 13 and 14 combined, and found the egg.
