i've never exactly played anything like this before, and tbh i've been a bit overwhelmed
i have been keeping up, though, and i will say what i think right now:

i'm not too sure about the Trundle stuff, but Karla's post seems convincing (im guessing that's nothing new)

I already defended myself, I really don't see how I am questioned at this point. I already explained my reasons for defending Purpl and promised to think before I posted and be a little wiser. I really don't see why you keep bringing up my name. Go for Trundle, don't waste your time.

So I'm finally all caught up! Been distracted with work and skype calls. Unfortunately, I do work have to get up at for work at 6am tomorrow and I'm so ready to get some much needed sleep. I would love to write up a few cases with some solid evidence, but I don't have the energy. It's a shame we lost Minties and Ashtot. Tom and Karen as well. All were important assets to the town. And thank you Karen or being so organized with players and your posts, it made catching up so much easier on my part.

I'll just state my thoughts and elaborate more tomorrow, since I only have a four hour shift, I'll have more time throughout the day to dig some stuff up. Currently, I think Trundle or Kit would make decent lynch candidates. After I officially replaced Gandalf, I went onto the IRC a few hours later. Trundle PMed me and wanted to know what "GANDALF'S ROLE WAS" because he was "dying to know". I told him if he wanted to find out he'll have to kill me, which he replied that could easily arrange since he was in contact with two vigilantes. It seemed like a bit of odd behavior, but it is Trundle, so can't make much from it. I can go on and on about why Kit should be lynched, but I don't think it's worth making a case against her unless I had solid evidence of a slip up. I couldn't bother with 98% of her posts, and all the posts during night one. Torture to read; I was ready to send Jubs a commit suicide action. Instead of taking the time in trying to make conversation and getting the ball rolling because nobody is talking in the tread, take the time to back track to get some evidence, so you can have something solid to present the next day phase.

Lastly, I'd just like to bring up FireNinja's post (Kit) and also this one here (ACNL Noodle). We haven't heard from him since he voted for Purpl. And his two cases seem to be a desperate attempt to keep you clear from a lynch. He chose a newer player (not sure if ACNL Noodle has played a Mafia game before this or not) and a player that has spammed and isn't on good terms with other players. What it looks like to me is he's using Mafia bait. Build cases against the weak players to make yourself look stronger. That way once you draw attention off yourself you can fly under the radar until your name comes up again. This isn't enough evidence for me to want him lynched, but I'll be keeping an eye on his posts. Maybe I'll find something more tomorrow.

So, I've been thinking about the minties/Beary argument earlier, and it is slightly suspicious that minties died afterwards. I think that either Beary killed her or someone is trying to get rid of Beary, by getting everyone to think of her killing minties...

Errr.. Do you mean kit? Not sure if name mix up or... Absolutely none of minties' post mention Maddy at all. I think kit could possibly be mafia but you know, it could be a very good way to frame her and make it look like she is mafia because of their argument, as you said.

I believe prin was involved with the hate on Maddy? Not really hate but she brought up a case on her, calling her useless.

A reminder of my case against Trundle:

Trundle is scum.

So what gets me the most is his roleclaim. Multiple times in the IRC he has come straight out as a Veteran. I'm sure others can back me up on this assertion. Now I'm trying to think why he would do this. The point of a veteran is to make Mafia waste hits on you. Publicly announcing that you are a vet defeats the purpose of this. I see this as a way for him to "immunise" himself from hits at night, then when he magically emerges unscathed the next day, he can just put it down to "yeah I scared the Mafia off hitting me". It's pretty easy to see right through that.

Let's not forget his opening post and the pearl of wisdom inside:

First off, I want to say that we need to watch out for the people who are quick to role claim. The mafia this game have a list a safe role claims, and it would be easy for them to push out some vague role and then hope it gains the trust of the town.

Then when Karen makes a post about Tom roleclaiming and posting his list, Trundle is suddenly very quick to forget his advice:

I do it quite often in my townie games as well, actually. Claiming townie is a great way to get the mafia to just leave you alone, especially for strong players who have a lot to say in the game. I do understand how you're calling him out, but it's commonly done, I've done it like the last 3-4 games (even though I'm always still targeted night one but protected by doctors, btw don't protect me).

This, along with his own Veteran roleclaim, is a little inconsistent, right? If he always claims townie as town, why has he suddenly gone for Veteran this time? I don't blame him though, it can be hard to keep a consistent story when you're a liar.

Then we have this, atypical Godfather post:

I'm pretty sure if there is a DT who wants to inspect me, go ahead.

Why are you encouraging DTs to waste inspections on you, if you know you're town? Every game I watch or take part in, I lambaste people for using DTs to confirm innocents, rather than find scum. We win the game by finding and killing scum, not by finding town to circlejerk over.

And talk about fostering a terrible thread atmosphere.

You know exactly what kind of player Beary is, you've mentioned it in previous posts. Rather than constantly trying to mould other players into what you want them to be, learn to accept how they are and play around it. All that post does is turn an already crappy thread into an even bigger poopfest. Between people like you upsetting Beary, and Horus & Dolby trolling oath, it's no wonder people want to avoid this garbage thread.

Oh, and Ashtot died, how convenient given how quickly he found you out last game.

His defence so far has just been lackluster. He argues that he claims veteran in order to help town by absorbing hits, but that is exactly how not to do it. His veteran claim is also a marked change from previous games where he would just claim townie. He disregarded his own advice to be wary of those who roleclaim early. What is with all these inconsistencies in his play?

This is how I see it: Trundle is scum. He claims veteran because it gives him a couple of options. First it means that in town's eyes, Mafia are less likely to target him, so it doesn't look suspicious if he keeps staying alive night after night. He can always pretend to have taken a hit if he needs to milk his veteran claim a little. Claiming veteran straight out is also a ballsy move and he could trick some of the newer more naive players into trusting him. This facade of being the pro-town veteran just looks great from the outset. Here's a brave player putting himself in the firing line to keep his town allies safe. At the same time though, he's privately pressuring other players, asking for their role. All under the guise of being the brave veteran who's uniting town.
No. His veteran claim was not a pro-town move, and he knows better than that. When he tried to explain his motives behind it, he just continued to dig himself even deeper.

I can say right now that I was not hit last night. Minties told me I was the only person who knew she was Detective, which I find quite strange, because unless she lied and actually claimed to someone else who was mafia who she trusted, or the mafia hit her randomly for making sense or to frame Kit, I am quite confused. I also knew Ashtot's role, and I was encouraging him to shoot someone last night in case he died, as he did claim to 4-5 people who were in no way proven.

So he's the only person who knew Minties was the DT. He also knew Ashtot was the vig. He encourages Ashtot to shoot someone on that night, "in case he died".
In fact, whisperings from an anonymous source (take at face value):

"[Ashtot] killed Minties according to Trundle. Trundle told him that he was gonna die, so he might as well use his vig shot."

I can't swear by the authenticity of that quote, I'm hoping some others can also verify the quote. So how did Trundle know Ashtot would die? Well that's a no-brainer. Anyway we have Trundle pressuring Ashtot to shoot. Ashtot shoots Minties. Trundle knew minties was DT. Did Trundle explicitly tell Ashtot to shoot minties? Well we won't know because Ashtot's conveniently dead too. It doesn't take a genius to put this together.

Quite clearly, as shown by this last quote, you aren't sticking to your promise. We bring up your name because you haven't stuck to your promise, because you still aren't doing anything to help town.

I think it's kinda cute, but a little scary.

This is ridiculous. You say you'll try to be a better player, and cut down on spam. Yet you're being equally useless by doing so. I understand this is your first game and all, but I've seen absolutely no change, if not barely, in your posting pattern.

*sigh* I'll say this again, I trusted her as a townie because in my opinion I thought you were lynching her for the wrong reasons. I'm not going to say this again. I agree about the villagedweller suspison but Prin has posted quite a few times, but I agree I haven't seen much from her either. I told you we should have lynched FireNinja, as he will only continue to burden us, but instead you kill am active....ugh. I want to hear more from TCH as well, as she almost got lynched and really isn't enjoying her living privilege.

Okay, I notice that this is a longer post, not some one or two liner. And once again, we lynched him because he was acting scummy which is a fully legitimate reason. And hello, I'm active here, not really being a burden here.

Now, I'm not sure if I'm the only one here who sees the huge flaws in this case or if I'm the only one who isn't too scared to call Karla out on it, but this whole case is terrible and I think Karla knows it.
First off, I was apparently the only one who knew Minties was DT. None of you knew that until I put it in my post, but honestly, why would I put that in my post if I were mafia? You know I'm smarter than that and leaving that information out would have made it so that point against never would have been able to come up. I'm not hiding anything, and I'm trying to be a pro-town player.
Next, I encouraged Ashtot to shoot last night because he had role claimed to about five or six people, which was a bad move on his part, but Kuma can back me up when I say he had role claimed truthfully to a lot of people, while I had fake role claimed to a lot of people in a chat room in order to see if any of them would put kills on me. I encouraged Ashtot last night to shoot someone who seemed really suspicious last night (two nights ago now IRL), and after he finished he told me he shot Minties. I then blew up at him because I knew Minties was the DT and he got mad at me for not telling him, but I kinda thought he was scum anyways so I had no reason to.
Lastly, with your quote, I'm fairly certain I know who that was, as I only told one town member last night and told them "If Karla knows this, he'll just use it against me someway", so I was debating posting it or not. Clearly, it got to you anyway, which I really don't mind, but why would I have even bothered telling someone that AFTER I had a post up against me? Again, I'm not stupid, and if I were mafia I wouldn't make evidence to put on myself.

Honestly, guys, I know most of you probably realize at this point how bad Karla's case is, but if you don't, please read all of the posts we made towards each other. He is a strong player and I believe he is testing whether or not you guys will follow like sheep or not.

I think it's a good thing Justin didn't make the items too overpowering. That was my biggest concern with this setup. Every player using a powerful item would be confusing and it would be hard to tell what happened at night, etc.
