tbt marketplace idea pitch

I am seeing this happen a lot more frequently, thankfully the threads are moved quickly (thank you mods). There has to be a better solution than just doing that until people stop. I don't think a capta or an image will stop people, but perhaps a name change could be the fastest solution. Making the name something other than marketplace may allow people to better understand, just as they do other TBT related forums.

Can someone explain to me what is so nIice about this forum bell tree items? I mean the silver mailbox etc is nice and handy... But it's all like just some icon next to your profile.

They look nice and I’ve made lots of friends through trading.

Also a lot of them are gained from events which bring the community together and it is nice to have some sort of reward for doing these events

But mostly they look nice

It could be possible they are using the forums on their phones because I do not see the little footnotes that dictates what each section is for like I do when I'm using my laptop.

board descriptions don't take that much time or effort to process, of which something like this should be the minimum amount expected from anyone

plus, I obviously don't have any data back up proof of this, but I feel if banners didn't work to some degree, they'd of probably stopped bothering with them

i work in web design and spend my day thinking about user experience. sometimes banners work, but this site is very visually busy and my gut is telling me it isn’t the best solution. especially when there is a simple solution that involves reading less copy (board name change, shifting it down on the list).

and tbh you just can’t expect people to read sub headers! if the internet was built on what people are expected to do it would be a disastrous experience. regardless, people already aren’t reading the subheaders.

i don’t disagree w/ anyone that this is annoying, but shifting blame from people being dumb to design needing improvement is important in finding strong solutions that aren’t punitive or shame people for making mistakes.

it seems like the halloween update brought in more users and we're seeing this issue resurface once again 😔 i'm curious if anything's been considered?
We did discuss the issue this thread raises prior to our most recent TBT Direct but ultimately decided to keep things as they are. Please simply report any threads that are posted in the wrong place, thank you.
