It was part of one of the mini games. Items were stolen to gain points. They didn't serve any purposes beyond that.

Why was mafia still pushing for me after I claimed third-party, lol? I was planning on aligning with them the following night if they had just lynched chees (partially my fault for not getting on in time to change my vote).
