Mafia TBT Newbie Game VII: The Daily Tragedy - Town win

Honestly, the "i will win >" tag has got my attention this entire game. I have a feeling mafia said that tbh.

So wait.... Why aren't we going with Entropy's claim? I mean if anyone was going to believe you nightmares, it would be me. But entropy why were you asking for cop to out if you were it? You should've known no one in their right mind would try to counterclaim you. But again why aren't we seeing this claim through? If we lynch nightmares and she's not it, we can just lynch entropy.

As of now, we're at D2 with no mafia kills. This could be a result of a few things:

- Doc saved someone who was attacked.
- Mafia hit BPV
- Mafia was jailed
- Mafia hit the person who was jailed
- Mafia didn't act last night.

Looking at the role PMs, people don't seem to be notified if they were saved or they saved someone (if Doc), so we can't really rule out 1/2 from lack of notifications. If we do indeed have a cop though, that eliminates 2-4, and it's either Doc saving someone or mafia not acting.

Mafia not acting seems really dumb tbh. If we had a situation with confirmed Jailkeeper, I could see why mafia would hold back the kill - framing whoever was jailed. However, mafia had no way of knowing if we had cop/doc or jailkeeper/BPV, so holding back the kill seems dumb. Therefore, if we have cop, I'm pretty damn sure it's Doc saving somebody.

If cop doesn't exist, and it's the other setup, then it becomes a lot more complicated. That rules out 1/5, but the other 3 are still possibilities. Only a potential jailkeeper could really eliminate 3 or 4 - if who they jailed wouldn't be a likely mafia target, then 4 can be eliminated. If who they jailed isn't really somebody who's suspicious, then 3 can be eliminated. And only a potential BPV can rule out 2 - if they weren't a likely mafia target last night, they can rule out 2.

Other than that.. we have 8 people alive currently, meaning it takes 5 to hit majority. Day 2 is still somewhat early game, but we have 1 of 2 scum killed. This doesn't mean we should grow complacent, though! We still should be scumhunting and building off of our information gained from D1.

As a final note, normally, I'd say we should go look at who died and who they suspected, but since no one died, that's kind of a moot point lol. Always look back at who died though, and try to figure out why they died!

But reason I'm not voting yet is because I'm waiting to see if there's a counterclaim to entropy's cop claim. A Jailkeeper, BPV, or a Cop could CC her claim.

Why does everyone just believe Nightmares saying they are town? I mean no one is Counterclaiming... The only thing not adding up is why Entropy isn't weirded out more that people are taking her claim as seriously. But yes, if someone could counterclaim for Sheriff please do.

Once majority is reached, there's no time for counterclaims, since that lynch would be locked in. We have time - we should wait for everyone to post first

I'm not really sure why I'm coming off as scum though...is it because I'm a bad player? Just because I'm unsure who is what role.... I'm not sure what else makes me scummy

Didn't entropy say I didn't say anything about Fleshy? Because I did >.>;; seems kinda like she's trying to find an excuse to lynch me crii

But then, like Toad said, it doesn't matter because when it's revealed I'm Townie, you'll vote her anyway right?

I never said it was bad, I'm saying I didn't see how they were scum....and I couldn't see any like....tell tale signs they were town...

But like why lie about cop claim? Granted the delivery of it all and follow up seems fake af. Is Sparro the only one not checked in? Agreed that entropy is town, but the whole thing would be so strange. I want to believe Nightmares' innocent call (because I know how it feels to be labeled scum when you are inno) but I also am very aware of the odds of claims like that being wrong.

@Kat - Thanks so much for that "where we're at" post, that's exactly the kind of information I need to better understand what is going on! So many things to keep track of haha! I was a bit confused by some of the references to possibilities ("...That rules out 1/5, but the other 3 are still possibilities.") as I'm not sure whether the "1/5" is a fraction or a shorthand meaning possibilities 1 and 5. I think that should make more sense to me when I read it again tomorrow morning, I'm pretty wrecked right now. Oh - and no need to be sorry for not replying sooner, RL comes first especially for sleep!!

Why? I don't follow why that is crucial at this stage? I'm not doubting you, just confused. Could you explain how jailer/cop role-claiming now - instead of later - would be beneficial to Town? And what the consequences to Town would be if they *don't* role-claim ASAP are?

because there wasn't a kill, so jailor probably jailed mafia. I mean they COULD have nkd but that would be lame and knowing that maf nk'd actually would help cause you know which players to look at

and if there's cop they need to out an inspection because at this point there's like a list of 4 people who can be mafia

if jailor doesn't out they could die without outing their jail (who could be mafia) and if cop dies same thing but with their inspection

I can't answer for anyone else of course but, personally, one of the biggest reasons you seem "scummy" right now is that you don't seem to be putting much effort into helping us work out what's going on and finding the remaining Mafia. I don't know if you're a good player or a bad one ; this is my second game so I can't judge such things yet. But I haven't seen many solid thoughts or opinions from you, and that gets increasingly concerning due to the nature of the game. I think you're more unsure of yourself and how to proceed as opposed to outright ~clueless (not meant in a derogatory sense), but that can amount to the same thing, really.

The only way to improve is to try, and we're in about as perfect a set-up to learn how to play Mafia as we'll get online. So, my advice is to ask any questions you need to and then start working out what has happened so far and what it means. Hopefully that should give you enough to go on - especially as I understand you've played at least a couple of Mafia games previously, so can draw on that experience. You have a unique perspective to offer and I hope you'll choose to share it with us.

FYI - BPVs and Doctors do not get notifications on if they/their targets were attacked or not. This is different than most games.

Yeah, I was pretty certain that was a fakeclaim, though I got some good info out of that.

Nightmares had a really pure reaction to that imo. I'm still thinking Menchie's the last one.
