TBT Reactions

Just had a thought about this but what are your opinions on the reactions to posts on TBT? And if there's any you'd want to include or bring back from prior events?

I've only been participating in the events as of late so I really only know the bean and bonk reaction.. I like both of them and I think the bonk reaction was funny but could be seen as ill-mannered. Although, I guess you can say that about all of the reactions.. (example: a sarcastic heart)

I think my favorite reaction because it doesn't have that much emotions attached is the thumbs up button!

I really like the TBT reactions, and I was happy when and were introduced since they were more fitting for certain types of posts. My favorite/most used reaction is (I think I'm nearing 9000 heart reacts by now XD). Event reactions are always great, and my favorite was the bonk one. I kinda wish it'd make a return!

Some reactions I would like to see are and , I think they'd be good additions. I understand that the sob emoji is only really used as "I'm crying" or a substitute laugh reaction, so I'm not sure if everyone would be on board with it (personally, I only really see people around my age use it). However, there's always a few posts where I think, "Man, where's the crying react when you need it?"

I do like the ones we got, but I seriously think we need a laughing reaction. I mean, when I see something funny and we like or heart it, I kind of cringe a bit knowing the reaction is a bit "strange".

I want a laughing react but I feel like it could be used to upset people so maybe not. I also only know bonk and beans as event reactions and I loved the bonk, but again, it could be misused. Perhaps something cute like the alien baby or something

I love the hug reaction; it’s a nice way to give support to someone who is struggling or just to show people you care, at least that’s how I view it and use it. I like the idea of new reacts, but at the same time I’m kinda apprehensive. I get so anxious about silly things like even reacts (I wish I didn’t though), and now probably am a bit more sensitive after I got some unpleasant reacts during TBTWC on discord. sure people may hit reacts in a heat of a moment but that doesn’t make it less hurtful or excuse it, some maybe accidentally but 5 people? I missed most of the events there were reacts like the throwing beans and bonk; those sound fun. The bonk one I like but at the same time am more unsure about since I did see it used at the tail end of an event that I missed, and the post it was used on kinda seemed like it wasn’t the best react to use on for. While I’m sure they were using it to cheer up the other member and I want to believe most members would be careful about how they use it, I thought it could easily be misinterpreted as a negative reaction. Ofc, maybe I’m overthinking since I overthink a lot and have severe anxiety

I felt like we were fine with just the like and love reactions. I didn't really like the addition of hug and celebrate at first, but I've grown to accept them over time.

I do have to say I'm glad the event reacts are event-only. I really hope they never release reacts like that as a permanent add-on to the shop, because it'd just be annoying after awhile if people spammed that specific react on your posts.

I was fine with just the love and like react, but I also do appreciate the use for the new ones in specific situations. I remember taking a bit to adjust though when they changed the emojis used for them though
I’m happy with the event reacts staying events, but I think my favourites are probably the alien baby and bonk. Space whale was also cool!

I liked the bonk and bean reactions because they were silly, but I'm not sure I'd want the bonk around pernamently.

I'm constantly emoting in my head when reading posts. It leads to me skipping over the actual button. (I'm trying to get better).

Sometimes I'm amused by a post and there's no real reaction for that. The bean throwing was a good temporary placement. I was already seeing the Bonk react get used nonsensically.

So, that said, if you want pure chaos. How about a dislike button.

the bonk react was one of my favourites because i could give all my friends a friendly bonk bonk

i also really liked the messages you would get when people used the space camp reacts! i’ll miss you little green alien ( ˃̵⌓˂̵)

I do like the current reactions and don’t think we need anymore. I’ve always been against the laughing react since it can be used for the wrong reasons.

Certain reactions need to stay event-only, like the bonk and snowball ones. If they were around permanently, they could be used for the wrong reasons similar to a laughing reaction. I tend to not use the hug reaction a whole lot, as there's not a lot of scenarios where I would feel comfortable using it.

So, that said, if you want pure chaos. How about a dislike button.

That will never happen here. A dislike reaction would lead to so many problems in the harassment department considering the fact that you can clearly see who gave what reaction. It's best to just report problematic posts anonymously and move along.

I like what we have currently, I'm not sure if I'm ready for more reactions.

I'm so glad the hug and celebrate reactions were added, they're really useful for the What's Bothering You and What Are You Happy About Today threads.

I also don't think it's a good idea to add the dislike and laughing reactions as well, they're not well suited for the emotionally sensitive.

I'm fine with the bonk and bean reactions not being added, I consider them to be, "too silly", to even be actual reactions.

I would give anything for bonk to come back. Its super fun and I struggle to see a scenario where it can be genuinely misused!
