I've had horrific migraines that made me feel like I was dying, so I know the pain
it especially sucks when you have an exam later that week and it messes with your scores and you regret not trying all the tricks in the book to get rid of it

Tsk, headaches can't kill and the worst a migraine can do is help cause a stroke, which has the potential to kill.
It was also never specified what type of headache it was.

That may be the case, but that would also boil down to who exactly is managing the thread?
Cause' I would have reason to think that it was the ghost of Oath, but even if it wasn't wouldn't there have been an autopsy done on his body to find the source of his death?

That still doesn't excuse the statement itself. It's "death by headache", where "by" can be replaced with "due to". The headache isn't what's causing the death. It was whatever was fatal that caused a headache, and it'll still be that, known or unknown.
