Is it just me, or is good furniture not a thing anymore? I've had Nook's Cranny for over a week now and have yet to come across any pieces belonging to a set. It doesn't look as if it gets better as we progress, either. According to the TTers I've talked to, it seems there is a total of like 5 super basic furniture sets that can be purchased in this one. I am wanting to know if anyone knows of the existence of a comprehensive list of all the furniture in the game? If one exists, we could use it to check for the existence of all the sets. My thinking is that if they ARE in the game (which it seems unlikely that they are), they are probably going to force us to craft them. If so, that would be super annoying and tedious, but no surprise with this game.

Crafting was fun at first, but now I hate it....and let me tell you, the ugly crafting furniture we've gotten so far ain't doing it for me. I just want my favorite furniture sets back...

Note: Please don't come at me with the overused "Oh, I know they'll be added in an update!" I've been seeing all over this site for every missing feature. Because no, we do not know that, nor should we be acting like that is 100% positively going to happen. Nintendo only specified that the updates were for holidays. If they ARE added in an update that would be amazing, but until we are told anything by Nintendo, we shouldn't be acting like we know one way or the other.

Well, there are more than 5. I don't have the thread off-hand but we casually community-sourced a list of quite a few furniture sets that are present. But I agree the Nooklings tend to stock a lot of trash. I don't think a comprehensive list exists yet because the game is so new. Some people here have tried to start guides, with varying degrees of success.

Ah. Wasn't sure if there was a MoriDB equivalent for this game. I know the companion guide is coming out soon. Perhaps that will give us the answers to everything.

But yeah, I've come across only a handful of good things in my Nooklings. The vast majority of it has been absolute garbage. I haven't even come across a couch, and I have been searching for DAYS for one to put in my house. In New Leaf, the furniture selection, even from the beginning of the game was infinitely better. I've recently started a New Leaf town to play alongside and compare w/ New Horizons, and let me tell you girl, they should've stuck with how they did the furniture in New Leaf.

Does your game think you need to have a kitchen in your house as well? Most of the stuff the Nooklings sell and the stuff my villagers give me are all kitchen stuff (but not even furniture, just things that go on tables like placemats and coffeemakers and such)

The best thing I've seen is an Imperial Bed which I spent probably too much on but like it's the only legit furniture that's passed through, I couldn't say no!

Nintendo has put in so much effort into New Leaf that I doubt NH could be at par. Graphic wise, of course ACNH is far better but that's only because this game is 8 years later and on a far more advance console now.

But despite all these rants, I will be getting my copy soon. I spent hundreds of hours playing WW and NL. Especially NL. I bought two DSXLs just for ACNL. That's how much I love the Animal Crossing games. I hope I will enjoy NH but after reading all the feedbacks, I decided to wait. But now, it seems like I can wait no more :D

OMG yes! I get kitchen equipment every freaking day, but cannot come across a couch, or any seating at all, for that matter.

I am sure that you'll really enjoy the game, despite it being far from perfect. There are certainly things that were upgraded from New Leaf, but there is just far too much that feels like an absolute downgrade. I think they took the deserted island theme too far, because it seems that a lot of the good furniture and features have been ditched in this entry to the series. That being said, I still love the game for what it is, and I am certain you will, too! :)

hey! as far as i know this is the closest thing we have to a comprehensive list atm:

im not really sure how to feel about the furniture yet, but for me personally (and the theme im going for) i've seen many items so far that have gone from mildly impressing me to making me audibly gasp in excitement. i definitely agree with you on the kitchen thing though, i now regret wishing for more "normal house stuff" in new leaf because now we have too much of it lmao

That is one of my biggest complaints. In New Leaf we had all kinds of different furniture that could fit any kind of theme you wanted. Wanted a haunted house theme? There was furniture for that. Want a a royal castle-like theme? There was furniture for that. Want a medieval themed house? There was furniture for that. In this game, I feel like a lot of creative freedom was taken away when it comes to decorating. You can mostly only find "normal house" stuff...so LAME!

I'm getting all kinds of kitchen items too. Like yes, I do want to make one of my rooms into a kitchen but it would be nice if I could get some actual furniture for it and not just things like kettles and tea sets.

The lack of any kind of variety with this game is so grating! I get the same kitchen-type items every single day, it seems. I thought that this was supposed to be the most customizable Animal Crossing game of all time, but so far, there appears to be an utter LACK of customization options. So disappointing! And don't even get me started with the lack of options for decorating your town. Sure you have the island designer, but it seems your only theme options are either a.) a generic "camping" theme b.) a generic "japanesey" theme, or c.) just an overall generic "town" theme. Remember all the cool and unique towns people made in New Leaf? Yeah, it seems with the lack of furniture and customization options, making the unique town I originally wanted is impossible. I had it all planned out in my head how I wanted it, but it appears they took out all the furniture and features I would need to make a town with that specific theme? Ugh.

Nintendo only specified that the updates were for holidays.

Currently untrue already. The newest video showing off the easter update coming in a few days also mentioned not only earth day updates later in April, but ' new features ' as well. What that means, I can't even begin to speculate because it only showed Leif's emoji face, but.

Interesting. I rewatched that video, and you are correct! I guess only time will tell what that means. That being said, I stand by the statement in my original post -- I don't want to see people saying "Oh, I know missing feature x will be added in an update" (insert missing feature in place of x) until Nintendo confirms that specific feature is being added.

I don't know how I missed the thing about "new features" the first time, really intriguing. I hope it means some of the missing stuff is returning, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's just things pertaining only to the holiday.

yeah, my nooks cranny furniture selection has been ... pretty unfortunate so far. and what IS up with all the kitchen items? i got a letter from the HHA for expanding my house saying they hope i enjoyed my kitchen. there was a rice cooker attached. chevre gave me a soup kettle.

op, if youre looking for a normal couch, i have the double sofa. if you want it it's yours.

Out of curiosity what theme were you planning? :lemon:

they made the furniture expensive af so that you can’t buy it all at once bc there’s so little variety imo. furniture is trash in this game and i’ll keep saying it until this made up furniture update people keep talking about happens

Aww...you're too kind! I made a thread last night looking for a couch, seeing that this game isn't going to give me one anytime soon, and nobody responded. So yes, I would like to take you up on that offer. Would you like something in return? How about some TBT or IGB?

Whatever's more convenient with you. Give me a few minutes to get my game booted up.

I was going for like a medieval/celtic forest theme. I wanted my town to tell a story. I was going to have an enchanted/spooky forest where I'd have a witch character live. For this, I would need dead trees...but APPARENTLY perfect fruits aren't a thing anymore, and thus, no more dead trees. I also needed the perfect fruit trees (albeit not dead) for the "good" part of the enchanted forest where I was going to have a fairy character live. I was then going to have a knight character. And then finally, I was going to have a royal character (a king, queen, princess, or whatever) who was going to live in a castle. Huge problems with all of this...For one, while yes, house exteriors are customizable in this one, the customization options suck compared to New Leaf. There's not really any good exterior themes, like the castle theme I would need to use for the royal person's house or the fairy theme I would need for the exterior of the fairy's house. Also there is a severe lack of furniture to fit the theme for any of the characters' house interiors. Considering that most of the furniture is "normal house" furniture, almost NOTHING would fit well in the any of the homes I had planned. There are other little things here and there, like the lack of bushes, and the fact that the theming would be ruined by the presence of the shops in the middle of the town (instead of hidden away like they were on Main Street in New Leaf) that just makes it impossible.

Unfortunately, I realized that there is just no way to make it work. It could 100% work in New Leaf, just not this game. So instead, I've settled for a generic Japanese-looking village theme. Not that unique, but I'm just working with what I've been given.
