The ACNH Rant Thread

I posted this in the random thoughts thread, but catching a barreleye is pretty challenging. But I am glad I caught a blowfish.
On my first island the barreleye was literally the first fish I ever caught. On my second island, it’s been over 3 years and I still haven’t caught the blighter. 😬

Why is the maximum storage so much smaller than the number of unique items available?! I thought that 5,000 was plenty, but then I started trying to fill out my catalogue. Since I can't customize clothes, I have to buy every item of clothing in every color available, and now I'm running out of storage. I'm probably going to have to start selling clothes to Nook's Cranny for only a fourth of the price I paid for it soon.

Unless if you're like me and you build 8 homes which is 8 created users and they all have upgraded storaged capped at 5,000 that would be 40,000 Storage in all, I can why it can be a pain. I've hoarded SO many materials and so many like Fruits that I do not want to lose them. I used to have this crazy habit of hoarding a lot of furniture, but then I ask myself "Why am I hoarding all this if I'm not using it?" So I did the smart thing and sell all of them to Nook's Cranny and lets just say I got back about 1 million bells in total. Same thing with selling all the Fish to CJ and Bugs to Flick. I hoard a lot of tools because they break too easily, hoard a lot materials if I feel like I want to craft more furinture, hoard a lot of vegetables/crops if I want to cook something and of course hoarding Nook Mile Tickets when I want to go villager hunting. I am crazy for having 8 homes like this but it helps whenever I'm restarting. Also yeah I transfer all homes before restarting since I have 2nd switch and 2nd copy of the game.

Ah, I gotta wait till July for three stag beetles and my bugs are complete 🪲

Oh its painful. I decided to no longer time travel. Then September for Samon ahh

What a wait...

Maybe you'll get a summer Kappa island? I was about to post a thread asking to buy Tiger Prawn for a recipe, and then I realized that I could just wait until the next time I got a summer island instead.

Oh my gosh I'm feeling this as well! Even having a second character dosn't really do it for me because I barely play on my second file and find it tedious to transfer items from one to the other. The amount of items I feel the need to have in this game is crazy and I've nearly hit the cap multiple times. Think I'm less than 50 items away from it being capped rn iirc... and that's insane to me considering I feel like I'm missing a decent amount of items I want/need, and don't even get me started on the lack of clothing. How the heck am I supposed to have a proper wardrobe this way? 🥹

How are snowboys supposed to be fun?!!! The size of the snowballs is so specific that it's almost impossible to get right, and the Achievements want me to make 20 PERFECT SNOWBOYS??!!

I've never actually had a lot of issues making them. I preferred this way of getting the seasonal diy compared to how they linked all the others to random balloons.

After the automatic first perfect Snowboy, I have tried 3 times and failed 3 times. Actually, I tried more than 3 times, but I've now given up on exiting and reentering the game in order to try again.

Edit: Also, it's not really the seasonal DIYs that are bothering me. I can get them from Kappa winter islands or through this forum if necessary. The problem is that the game has tied Achievements to making perfect Snowboys and then made the definition of "perfect" incredibly specific.

Someone's probably mentioned this before, but I really hate how you can't decline a DIY you already have when talking to a villager who's crafting, but for some reason you can decline a DIY you don't know lmao. Seems like it should be reversed, and it's annoying to get stuck with a DIY I don't need.

Its very annoying when you play down a Home Plot for a villager you cannot pick it back up again. Its like there forever. Yes I know you can have villager homes but you cannot get rid of a Home Plot that is empty after they move out.

I just realized that the K.K. Mania Achievement requires me to attend 100 concerts to reach the final Achievement. That's nearly two years of weekly concerts! WHY?! I wasn't planning to play this game every week for TWO YEARS! On the plus side, I'm now feeling a sense of glee that I'm going to ignore what the game requires of me so I at least have that. YOU CAN'T MAKE ME, ACNH!

The autosave feature. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it.

I figured I would do a little work when I booted up the game when I was doing the Xmas event and I didn't care for what I did. Oh well, autosave comes in to ruin the day. Now I got to waste time undoing it all.

Freaking Nintendo and their measures they go at to stop cheating or time-traveling. How about instead you focus on making some parts of the game not feel like a chore? I thought I had a good idea to stunt flowers on my island by laying down sand paths. The beach works that way. I should had looked it up online before I did it because it doesn't. I wanted to keep tulips stunted to a certain point to finish a theme without having to go back every now and then to kill the petals.

Yeah I think K.K. Mania is by far the most TEDIOUS and TIME CONSUMING achievements to get because K.K. Slider only appears on Saturdays (Sunday or Monday if there is an event going on) and you can ONLY listen to K.K slider ONCE a week. I mean unless if you time travel who in the right mind would have all that time to even do this? Not to mention K.K Slider only takes songs by 6 PM so its like you have to wait the entire day until evening just to hear his songs. Its really dumb!

I just realized another reason why I hate Snowboys. The Achievement is tied to making "perfect" Snowboys, but there is no explanation in the game about HOW to make a perfect Snowboy. If I didn't have online guides, I'd be completely lost. Even with online guides, I keep failing at making "perfect" Snowboys. What did the people who played the game in the first year it came out do?

Been a thing I've mentioned since day 1 lol. It just doesn't make sense. The only thing I can think of is they really wanted to push the paid online agenda on us. If you already know it you can trade with someone. If you accidentally say no, then you can go online and trade for it.

A lot of the game is locked behind a paywall. You want to have multiple islands? Cough up $300. You want more than 3 fruit types? Cough up a $20 sub. Sure $20 is not a huge amount, but really there's not much of a multiplayer scene like there was on NL and that was free.

Forcing things on other players (like force-giving them items, forcing a nickname on you, and repainting your roof against your will) has always been, and always will be, one of the problems villagers have.
