The Addition or Subtraction of Bells through Posting

Hello. I have come to notice a few particular things after coming to this site when it comes to the influx of Bell Tree Bells. Obviously, you get them every time you post. The length of the post itself usually can determine how many bells you end up receiving. Though, I do have a question about the subtraction. Initially, I was led to believe that excessivly short posts end up in a subtraction of bells. But recently I was posting and I had forgotten to capitalize something. It was a lengthy post and I had earned 8 bells for posting it. However, after I had edited the post for my capitalization, it was said that I was subtracted the 8 bells that I had just received. I have also noticed that post merging also subtracts a hefty amount of bells. Is this merely a bad stroke of luck? Or are people actually punished for fixing up their mistakes?

Not every post equates to the same amount of bells. When you edit a post, it removes the original amount you received and recalculates the new amount to add. You should see a positive amount immediately after the negative amount.

Yeah. LIke earlier I posted, then I was at 21 bells. I post merged, and was back at 13. I refreshed the page and was then at 23. So you see, it's just fixing itself to give you the right amount for posting.
