01: Handwritten | Letters

Haha, I jest. Anyway.
Letters are the most basic form of communication, albeit somewhat ineffective; they consist of a written message on paper/parchment and put in an envelope, then sent to the recipient by any means possible, whether it be through human or pigeon. Since letters have existed since the dawn of time (okay, maybe a little after that) it is impossible to trace back to its original inventor.
02: Typed | Email
Because why write physical letters when you can send virtual ones that can?t get destroyed, am I right?
Email was invented by Shiva Ayyadurai, with every intention of replicating an organized mail system without all the mess. These days, while the internet is filled with spambots and advertisments, if one is smart they can pinpoint the tiny occurrences where someone is actually trying to contact them, like a friend not under the control of LOVE-LETTER-FOR-YOU.txt.vbs or a potential employer.
Speaking of the Love Letter virus, this is another case in which email may not necessarily a good thing; after all, no one can send viruses through a physical letter. Probably.
