1. Do you agree with May that many psychologists study human behavior and experience in abstract and oversimplified terms? Give reasons for your judgment.
2. Do you agree with May that we have lost our moral compass? What can we do to regain it?
3. Is there too much emphasis in our culture on technology and gadgets and mastery of the environment? Do we have a good understanding of our relationship to the environment? Have you seen any progress recently in our attempts to preserve the environment?
4. Do people really endure unsatisfying relationships because they are afraid of loneliness?
5. Do you think that many students are struggling to become independent of parental control? If you are a nontraditional student, do you still have issues concerning parental control? Do you agree with May that one of the basic struggles in life involves our attempts to accept ultimate responsibility for our actions? Is dependency always harmful to the person?
