The effect of answers, if you could only bring...

Has any one figured out yet what effect the answer you choose is in the game?

(If you could only bring one thing with you to a deserted island, what would it be? Choices, a sleeping bag, a lamp, some food, something to kill time.)

Pretty sure it was just a for fun question they ask you.

i don’t think anything’s definite yet but maybe it affects the furniture you start out with? if i remember correctly, nook will provide you with a few furniture pieces in your tent, so maybe that determines what you get? or maybe even what your first crafting recipes will be? but like khaelis said, it might just be a question you’re asked for fun maybe as some sort of tribute to rover’s questions that would previously determine your appearance lol

I have not given much thought about this. I'm just happy to it doesn't effect the island layout.
