Most likely, if you're reading this, you've just joined The Bell Tree. To avoid hearing things like gtfo, fail, or stuff like that, please have a look at this guide.

POSTING said:
Now that you've joined, you'll most likely make an introduction topic, hopefully you know where to go, if not, the introduction board can be found here.

One of the most important things to do, is to try typing with proper grammar, no "HI I R NU!!!!!!!!11" It won't hurt you to move your finger over a few extra keys.

Another thing is smiley spam, this can be very annoying to most other users. Sure, most of the smilies look good, but seeing so many :gyroidsideways: :gyroidsideways: :gyroidsideways: :gyroidsideways: :gyroiddance: :gyroiddance: :gyroiddance:
Is just plain annoying.

Main topic
In most cases bumping topics are okay, but if you bump a topic every 2 minutes, that's just useless, the best cases to bump topics are atleast 2 hours, or a few days. You will get your ass chewed off if you bump a topic from a time like 2005.

Remember not to page stretch, this can be a nuisance to others, if you are posting a large picture, please put it in a spoiler:

Code:
[spoiler]insert here[/spoiler]

This code will turn into this:
<div class='spoiler_toggle'>Spoiler: click to toggle</div><div class="spoiler" style="display:none;">This is also useful for hiding spoilers in games, or movies</div>
Posting videos in Brewster's Cafe said:
This is another thing that could lead to posts like "fail", if you're posting funny videos, make sure that it is actually funny. If it's not, then your topic will be filled with "fail" and "lame".
Advertising said:
If you are advertising a site, make sure you have 41 posts (Fruit rank) or higher.
If you are posting a forum ]
Visiting other people's towns said:
There are a few ways to ask to visit someone else's town, you can post a topic in The Gate, post in a topic of someone inviting people, or PM.

Now PMs can be annoying to most users, if they so "no", they mean no. Don't ask why, just walk away.

hackers and trolls said:
Very rarely, you may encounter a troll/hacker, they may hack your town, cut down your trees, or vandalize in any way possible. The easiest way to avoid this, is to go to Their town, instead of hosting. If you catch them vandalizing, shut down the power immediately.

Here is a video made by Stormcommander, showing how not to be scammed.

<object type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width="250" height="250" data='http://www.youtube.com/v/ke1HH3HIdSE&feature=channel_page'>
<param name='AllowScriptAccess' value='never' />
<param name='wmode' value='transparent' />
<param name='movie' value='http://www.youtube.com/v/ke1HH3HIdSE&feature=channel_page' /><param name='play' value='true' />
<param name='loop' value='true' /><param name='quality' value='high' /></object>

ATTITUDE said:
This is probably one of the most important things, you've joined, you're not on top of the world, be polite and (hopefully) others will be polite towards you. Things like ignorance, arrogance, and stupidity. No, just no.

It's best to steer clear of flame wars, but you will probably end up in a flame war or two, and the normal instinct for you to do would be to insult them back. (The best thing to do, is to report the person.) If you are gonna insult them, try not to seem like a total moron, so things like "ur gay" or "ur mom" are a no-no. (Also, things like using gay as an insult, or racial slurs can offend most people, so try to refrain from using those.)

(Even if you're not even supposed to be involved in a flame war XD)

BOARDS said:
Hopefully, you know how to read the description for boards. The Museum is not a topic to discuss how great the Museum is.

The Bulletin Board = This is used for important announcements, so it is best to check this often.
The Bell Tree HQ = This board is used for questions, feedback, or simply introducing yourself.
TBT Marketplace = NOTE: This is not the place to sell/request items for bells, this is used to sell/request items for TBT Bells
Animal Crossing: City Folk = This one is pretty obvious, this board is for the discussion of the 3rd installment of the Animal Crossing series.
The Gate = No, this is not a place to talk about the gate in Animal Crossing, this place is used to set up wi-fi appointments with other people.
Auction House = Now THIS is the place for selling/requesting your Animal Crossing items FOR Animal Crossing bells.
Animal Crossing: Wild World = self-explanatory, used to discuss the 2nd installment in the Animal Crossing series.
General AC Discussion = For discussing the Animal Crossing series in general. The original Animal Crossing can be found in here, as a sub-forum.
Gamer's Lounge = NOTE: This is not for the discussion of Animal Crossing, this is for discussing any other games.
The Museum = As stated, this is not a topic to talk about The Museum in Animal Crossing, this board is for showing off any artwork you have made.
Off-Topic = For discussing anything not related to Animal Crossing, but this place is not used for any random topics.
Brewster's Cafe = Not meant for any serious discussion, this board is a little more "spammy", but of course, topics like "sdsag" or random gibberish are not allowed. You may also advertise sites here, or play forum games.

That's all i have to say right now, some stuff that i've typed might be a liiiiiittle... (can't think of the right word), but cut me some slack, it's late D: I'm not forcing you to do this, but it'd be smart to follow this.

Why did i make this? Who knows, but hey i'm trying to help, that counts for something, right?
<big>
Note, i shall be editing this every so often, just in case i forget something.
</big>

Good effort, but I doubt this will help much.
Eh, probably not, but worth a shot.

One less nub means a better TBT for all (more or less) :glasses:

Thanks, Kailinn, i hope so too =p

Didn't DF make one of these?
Did he?
I think Odd deleted it.
The staff doesn't delete stuff.

I have it locked away deep inside a deep and dark chamber.

:evillaugh:

Besides, would I really get rid of something if I didn't have a semi-decent reason? :O

We don't delete! :p

Deleting is like a forum sin. That way, there's no evidence to show that someone said something. :p

I have a copy of DFs Newbie posting guide and there's nothing bad in there so far as I can see...
