The potential of "new villagers added" to the ACNH and future collaboration

Considering that the Sanrio villagers have returned, if anything, I could only see them expanding and making use of more amiibos. There is also the potential of old villagers returning.

Personally, I would love entirely new residents and new species. But I doubt it'll happen soon.

Haha, before they add any new villagers, I’m gonna need double the number of villager spots, cause my head will explode!

I’ve got a ‘favorites and potential favorites’ list sitting at around 80 villagers right now, so the idea of adding more villagers is overwhelming.

however, I would not say no to some more hamsters, particularly an uchi (ever since I got plucky and Deirdre on my island I am back really loving the personality!)

and people have great ideas, but yeah…Tom nook’s gonna need to build me some high density housing!

I guess my serious answer would be: there’s nothing I enjoy more in this game than the villagers, but with only 10 spots and already almost 400 villagers, it seems crazy to add even more unless we did have more room on our island for additional villagers.

As long as its not locked behind a paywall like the Sanrio villagers then I would be okay with it. Seriously I mean the fact they make it to where you cannot invite Sanrio villagers from someone else's island or you can't find them on Nook islands really bothered me. Also if you wanted their furniture you actually have to find someone who has the furniture, but you can't catalog it. That is one of the issues I had with the Sanrio update since I didn't buy the Sanrio amiibo cards.

I would love new villagers or them bringing back some of the ones that didn’t make it to NH. Agree with @WaileaNoRei we would need more villager spots first. I am having a hard time deciding what villagers I want on both my islands.

i think it´s actually better that way because it makes them more ´special´. If it were that easy to get them and their items, they´d just be regular villagers and items which takes away from them being interesting and desired, especially since it is a collab with another comapny, Sanrio, if they were just regular characters it wouldn´t make sense because they aren´t just animal crossing villagers, they´re animal crossing x Sanrio villagers.

I was kinda hoping they'd introduce new villagers from time to time, maybe a new one with every second update. Although with that 'leaked' house in the recent patch notes (that was promptly removed), I do wonder if their plan is to eventually release a bunch of new villagers, perhaps to coincide with another set of Amiibo cards.

I like the concept to get the new villagers as amiibos and I feel as though new villagers needed to be added for that, but with how things have been with scalpers I’m dreading it.

Yes i guess, but as a Sanrio fan I was willing to pay that money, I guess that´s why you pay extra cuz there are some people that really like Sanrio who want them to be more special yk

Oh man, new villagers would be cool. I havent played any of the other games, but I've seen some of the villagers, it would be cool if they brought them in, so new players like myself can meet them. I like Kit alot, he also has the same name as my visual novel character. Seeing some of the old villagers not in this game would be cool.

I enjoyed the Sanrio clothes were all great, so was the furniture. Villagers, well the only one I liked was Toby. But still loved the event. I had to order them though

Like I had never met, or seen Rover before. But it was super cool to meet a character who was in old games.


Then again, I moved my villagers to a new island, all of them. So I'd probably have no room for them sadly. Unless we can get more spots, even twelve would be generous. I think that's an update I'd enjoy more.

Please, i really need 2 or 1 more spot for a villager. I cant kick some of my villager (they are not my favourites) because i share my island with my family. And im having a hard time to chose who to kick with! I Mean, i love them all.

I see a lot of folks here mentioning that they would want a Pokemon collab. Now...I would LOVE one but I know that it will likely not happen. Unlike Legend of Zelda or Splatoon, Pokemon is only licensed by Nintendo and not an outright Nintendo IP. The Pokemon Company still makes all the decisions regarding its marketing. Smash is popular enough for the TPC to collab with or it may be in one of their agreements with Nintendo. AC may not be big enough quite yet so its more likely for Zelda or Splatoon collabs from the Nintendo properties, which I'd personally love. I'd really want Wolf Link or Epona back.
