The "relocate" option

Watching the Direct yet again, I spotted the "I want to relocate." option here while Nook talks about the player's home and this is probably one of the best features this game has to offer. Because I'm pretty sure that this option allows you to put your house into a different spot afterwards if you start to dislike the spot you choose at the beginning. This is a huge help for people who aren't sure which spot is the best for their house and also helps you later a lot when you start to do landscaping as well as building out your island.

Basically, you never have to be worry about again choosing the wrong spot for your character(s).

I'm really excited about this too, it'll remove so much stress from trying to pick the perfect place for your house without even having a proper plan for your town!

when the terraform got announced in the direct, i felt so overwhelmed by it.
i know once i get my town going w all the tree, flower, decor etc. placement, i?ll maybe look into modifying the landscape.
then i?ll probably relocate my house to find somewhere better.

Do you think it’s just for moving your tent? Or do you think even when the actual house is upgraded we will be able to move it? I hope so.

We needed this and I was scared that after building my hose I wouldn't be able to move but we can literally move anytime... ANY TIME!!! ⁄(⁄ ⁄ˊૢ⁄ ⌑︎ ⁄ˋૢ⁄ ⁄)⁄

They mentioned this in the direct though. They said, and I quote "Providing moving services for your house". See the direct at 18:50

i’m very thankful for that feature - i won’t be 100% about my landscaping until much later in the game so i’m thankful i’ll be able to move buildings if needed

i wanted to have my own house on a little elevated cliff with some sort of stairs or ramp leading up to the front door ever since we saw those two ads in taiwan and i was afraid this wouldn't be possible. now i can sigh in relief!

I hope so. To me it would make sense. Since you can relocate the shops and your house. At least from my understanding you can move the shops as well.

Thanks, that was my thinking too. Of course I’d rather not have to change my mind on any placements, but with the terraforming ability it might be necessary occasionally.

our town is going to have three villagers because we only have one switch console, so we're going to all make our own *space* in town so to speak. this might be nice in case we don't really divide it up too well.

I wonder if it?s cause so many people hacked their NL towns? They saw we wanted more customisation and just went ?ok have all of it!? like you though, I ain?t complaining!

Honestly, we can move our own house, the shops/facilities (except Plaza, probably).. I can't see why we couldn't move villager houses.

Wow, that's great news! This is probably one of the greatest new features to be announced for New Horizons yet. I hope you can relocate animal villager's homes and other buildings, too - that would save so much time and headache from using the plot reset trick. I can't describe how much of a pain it is trying to get villagers to move in a certain area only for them to move elsewhere, destroying flowers, trees bushes or blocking areas. And sometimes, as you landscape your town, you might change your initial layout plans and go another direction. With this new feature, it'll make decorating your town a whole lot easier. Best thing to happen since QR codes were added.

It's great we can relocate.

I hope we can do the same with villagers rather than having to boot them out because we put them in the wrong spot.
