I am currently at a 4 star rating for my island and know that many of you all are in the same boat trying to achieve 5 stars. Hopefully we can support each other on our journey to 5 star status. Also, I'd love input from current 5 star island residents about what helped them to achieve 5 star status. I know one question that has been on my mind is whether or not you have to have an upgraded Nook's Cranny to obtain 5 stars. I've seen maybe 7 5 star islands and they all had the upgrade. Let me know what you think it really takes to be a 5 star island!

do you guys know what you get for having 5 stars? i havent bothered trying yet because I'm not even sure what the reward is (assuming jacob's ladders spawn, but i dont really like those so lol)

Once at 4 stars, if not already, max out your villagers, bridges, and slopes, and once done, continue adding DIY furniture and fences little by little until 5-star.

i think you get jacob’s ladders and the gold watering can diy

I have five stars! You need to have lots and lots of furniture and a good bit of fencing, the latter being something I personally don’t love so I’m a bit mad I had to use it. Make sure you have a good bit of flora as well, especially flowers. Just try and be as creative as possible! I ended up making a playground, a marketplace, a football pitch, an orchard, and a designated campsite on the top level of my island. Putting stuff on the beach is also important, and when you’re putting furniture down try to spread them out. That’s all of the advice I have really! I don’t know about Jacob’s Ladders but all I got was a DIY recipe for a golden watering can. Good luck!

5 star'd today with:

- 9 villagers
- 3 bridges
- 4 inclines
- 200 trees (20 of each fruit, 40 cedar/hardwood)
- >200 flowers
- probably at least 100 pieces of furniture
- probably at least 150 fences

Fences and furniture were roughly spread out all over the island, trees too. Flowers mostly in two acres but with a few spread out.

You throw them all into one big bunch and in a corner you're not using. They have to be in the town, but the game isn't rating based on how well you used them

Last I checked I was 1 star. I was still 1 star the next day. I do partly blame my husband, who is intentionally leaving trash laying around trying to get a fly for his critterpedia. Flies keep spawning when I play, but aren't spawning when he plays. lol

I'm not really in a rush for this though, especially now that Bunny Day and cherry blossom season, plus the new April bugs and fish, are here. I hope someone can eventually figure out what the real requirements for this are. It's so vague.
