Is there any verification that the Roost exists? I haven't seen anything about it.

Reviewers haven't had the game long enough to unlock the Roost. They also have signed NDAs, so can't tell us everything.

Roost unlock guide for New Leaf
Donate at least 50 items to the museum, and open the museum shop (see below). After the museum shop has been open seven days, talk to Blathers. He will eventually be thinking about something when you go into the museum. Talk to him at that time to add the Roost Café to the list of public works projects.
Museum Shop
Donate at least 20 items to the museum, with at least one from each category (bugs, fish/deep sea fish, fossils, works of art). After you have donated enough items, talk to Blathers each day. One day, he will be thinking about something. Talk to him and he will talk about the museum shop. After that, the museum shop will be added to the list of things that you can build in your town. Just sit in your mayor chair in the back of the Town Hall and ask to build something, then choose the museum shop.
I'm New Leaf alone, it takes a long time to get the Roost.

At some point we're going to have to accept that we don't know everything, and that's perfectly fine. All the reviews I read totally geeked out on just about everything, so I'm pretty stoked with what we know or have been privileged to.
i feel like he may be later on in the game, some months into it. and as someone said, if he really isn't yet, then they'll definitely add him into future updates. they don't even have holiday characters in as yet bc they didn't have enough time probably? so they're adding them soon for these upcoming events and stuff. i'm sure with more feedback too- they'll try to add stuff people may want to see most <3 i'm definitely hoping!

I absolutely love the Rooster music and vibe when visiting Brewster. I really hope him comes back some how. Maybe incorporated into the Museum?
