Shiny soft resetting is a waste of time if you haven't played the game through for the first time. Just play the game. xd

I have never really minded whether my starter us shiny or not, maybe I'm just too impatient to go through the bother of soft resetting over and over again, I would just like to play the story! I may consider it if I ever were to replay a game, but as for my first run I just stick with what I'm given! (Shiny litten looks cool though, but it doesn't matter as I plan to pick Popplio anyway!) Sun and Moon hasn't been released yet where I am (curse you Europe!) so I haven't got the game, is the time between saving and picking your starter as long as it was for X and Y? Because if so its a no way when it comes to soft resetting for me!

No, I don't do that. I tried to do it with RSE, but eventually stopped because it was tedious. (Not the Poochyena, the fact that it took long.)
Meh, I don't mind I'm pretty cruisy when it comes to actual game play I don't mind how long it takes tbh.

it really just comes down to determination I guess, If you can be bothered waiting that long to actually play the game. My other friends that soft reset with me know this struggle, but sometimes it can take up to a week of soft-resetting, though one of my friends already got a shiny rowlet orz.
I am personally going for popillo, but I think that Litten has the nicest shiny color scheme.
Ahhh, the shiny versions of Litten and Rowlet are pretty... I really want to stick with Popplio though...! Best of luck with your hunt! <3

Not trying for Shinys but my boyfriend is going to reset a million times to trade me two of each of the starters so we can each have a set of all three.
so I'm about 50 sr's in and can't give up now lmao. but I swear I find myself staring at Popplio's nickname screen for so long trying to determine if it's shiny or not. since its literally just a slight shade darker. ugh ;-; has anyone gotten a shiny popplio?! esp a picture from the nickname screen, I swear I've probably encountered a few and just couldn't tell.

Shiny sof resetting usually takes all the way up to 1000 resets as ive seen many people do it on twitch and youtube :<

I considered it, but honestly the tutorial felt like it just dragged on before getting your first Pokemon so I'm not terribly interested in reliving groundhog day over and over again. Would much rather just end up breeding for one later one.
This is what I did. One of my friends bought both games, one was the reset game & he reset a million times for us to have all 3 starters from the beginning. I lucked out & got an adamant Litten. I was hoping for a female starter somewhere in there, but no luck. I can suffer until I can breed more starters.

No, but I was soft resetting for a good nature and OMG it's annoying. I watched that fricken cut scene so many times I started to notice every graphical problem in it. (My favorite being Hala's feet cutting through the steps and him skipping one entirely cause they just play his walk cycle)
