Two main characters, for now. Told from Ebony's point-of-view, a female who is revenge-hungry and Cade, her "sidekick"/partner-in-crime who is a jerk, a bit controlling, and corrupt~

Warriors did have a lot of death, gore, and mystery though! It's a series about wild cat clans struggling to survive and constantly waging war against each other for stuff as simple as trespassing. There's treason, psychopaths that turn into serial killers, etc. If you read more of it back then, I think you might have gotten hooked like your friend and I c:

Banning myself because I forgot to add that one of the characters dies by having another cat slash open his stomach and tear multiple organs in the process. This is in a book meant for like 12 year olds so yeah x3

Banned because thank you. thank you ^-^ All of the VHS tapes are 50 cents at the thrift store I went to. I got a sealed Footloose and Miracle on 34th Street VHS there, too I thought it was cool, because they were still sealed.

Also banned because they're cats...I mean...I just couldn't...no...Plus, I hate reading series. The only one that I've read/am reading is The Chronicles of Narnia. I just have to get The Silver Chair, and I'll be done, I think....
I also think my friend trying to force it onto me, like she did with anime, made me completely hate it.

Banned because yeah it is. Along with character's description of how they look and their personality. I've read a couple of books, where the author took a whole paragraph or two right at the beginning to describe in great detail what the main character looked like and what their mannerisms were. I like it better, when you can tell the way they are, by the way the author makes the speak or whatever, ya know? Idk...Subtlety is key, I think ^^

Also banned because pizza will be the death of me! I should totally have pizza at my nonexistent funeral.

Yeah, I understand what you mean. When I was younger, the whole idea of super tough kitties being mean to each other in the wild sounded cooler... But now I'm reading it and it's pretty funny how dramatic things get. And how ridiculous it is that cats can have SUPER POWERS (ugh). No one can take it seriously now... and the writing is just awful

Great! It's important to have characters that acknowledge another's flaws, or bring out the other's flaws in some way. When a character has flaws that are barely mentioned or seen as 'endearing', then they're not flaws and the character starts to get all Mary Su-ish

Banned because yes! I don't like a big info-drop. I want piece by piece~ Omfg. really? That sounds horrible... I never write like that because a) I don't even know what the characters look like right off-the-bat, b) even when I do, I keep reference pictures for my mind and never share with readers, and c) I want the readers to learn the characters for themselves instead of me spoon-feeding the answers. YES! SUBTLETY IS KEY! You get a more enriching experience to learn the characters for yourself too. <3

Yeah...I just...I like reading about people. I like stories who main people, not animals. Plus, it goes along with series. I swore not to read series, because I can't just go buy the whole series and the libraries are always missing at least one book out of the series. So, I can't bother with it. There are a few series I would like to read, maybe, but I don't have the resources to do so. XD I couldn't take it seriously back then xD
Like, I had already started reading adult fiction, aside from the occasional Goosebumps, there was no going back, after that xD

I'm not either, per se, but *if I feel like it*, I could enjoy an anime, depending. Instead of looking it as "anime people are ridiculously obsessed with, and I for one will not take part!", I now view it as "Japanese cartoons.", I don't know. It made it easier to sit through them and actually enjoy them.

Banned because I don't like it either. It almost makes me not even want to read the book, even though I just started it. I wish every writer would think that way. I read that it's a big problem that writers tend to do. I would just have all of that listed on a page for character profile, solely for my knowledge only.

Banned because I agree with you on everything! Not everyone is into the whole 'talking animal' thing, and reading about actual people is easier and more relatable for obvious reasons.

omg the whole series issue you have is the same exact problem I have when it comes to watching shows that have a billion seasons. Where do you even begin xD

My friends had to stream animes for me and pretty much tie me down to a chair so I can give them a chance. Seeing it as japanese cartoons is a great way to look at it! For me, most humans in anime are just too attractive and it puts me off. I can't stop seeing them as overglorified aliens.. Western animation embraces the world's ugliness and has main characters of all shapes and sizes. idk it's just a preference of mine
